Lets hope for a good game... If Romania wins their game, doesn't matter what this result is...

Looks like Ribery is out. They say could be Achilles tendon which would see him out for months.

Dunno about that red card. But now if Romania don't win their game they are out from what I know.

Ribery off, Abidal off with 10 men for the French.
The influential Viera injured.
A substitute who came on substituted himself.
No matter how faulty the penalty decision maybe (and I am not sure about that) the very fact that a French defender was behind an Italian striker who only faced the goal keeper is poor defending.
The French were my favourites before the tournament. To be quite frank if I was a French fan the only thing I'd be thinking about now is South Africa 2008.
The Italians are pounding the French so hard but haven't managed to break them.

YES!!! "France" are out! The next time we will see them in a major tournament is in Africa where they belong!
Onward Chartered Soldiers, on to heathen lands,
Prayer books in your pockets, rifles in your hands.
Take the glorious tidings where trade can be done,
Spread the peaceful gospel --- with a Maxim gun.
Tell the wretched natives, sinful are their hearts,
Turn their heathen temples into spirit marts.
And if to your teaching they will not succumb,
Give them another sermon with the Maxim gun...
When the Ten Commandments they quite understand,
You their Chief must hocus, and annex their land;
And if they misguided call you to account,
Give them another sermon --- with a Maxim from the Mount
We don't feel anything special. It was expected, players that are divided between young and experienced ones, that mostly don't have bonds among them and are stuck with a second class stubborn trainer.
No real expectation, no real sadness. We'll do better next time I guess. My only pleasure will come, I hope, when we'll trash the Italians even harder in rugby than usual!

So a repeat of the Holland versus Italy much, with the Dutch winning.

Communism has stamped its mark on the 20th century-a mark of aggression and cruelty, bloodshed and tears. Historians have estimated that its ideology has caused the death of 120 million people since the Russian Revolution of 1917. These casualties include not only soldiers killed on battlefields, but citizens murdered by their own governments. The whole world has seen the pitiless slaughter carried out by Communist leaders. One hundred million men and women, from the elderly to young people and infants, lost their lives to this cold, hard, savage ideology. Communist regimes have deprived tens of millions of their most basic rights and freedoms, ejecting people from their homes and systematically subjecting them to famines, slavery in labor camps and imprisonment. Millions have been the targets of Communist guerilla groups and terrorist organizations, and still others have lived in the fear of becoming targets for their bullets.
What are this ideology's roots? Where was Communism born? How did such a cruel, bloodthirsty worldview find adherents and supporters throughout the world? Why did it come to power and flourish, dragging millions in its wake? How did it come to an end, with the collapse of the Soviet Union? Or has it really ended, or does it still threaten every country on earth?
Lo there do I see my father.
Lo there do I see my mother.
Lo there do I see my brothers and my sisters.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning.
Lo they do call to me;
they bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla,
where the brave may live forever.

BTW, the dutch are playing WAY above their level right now. It's possible that they'll continue playing on that level but it could also be the end of it. What if the Netherlands takes a goal in the first minute? Will they be able to come back?
Up till now they didn't really had any difficulties winning in contrast to the Italians for example.

Rzec, it was a definite penalty and a straight red since he was the last man who denied a goal scoring opportunity. Though I doubt Luca Toni would have scored either way.
I would be interested to know: what does it say about football in the Coran ?
Time to definitely close the 98 WC page for the french team. The team need to change a lot with more young players and a change in spirit with the end of the old guard influence (it's cleaning time for everything in france it seems, even for football lol).
In 98 and 2000, the french team had two bosses: Laurent Blanc and Deschamp. This kind of man are missing since then, Zidane wasn't really the boss able to direct the game and the player's spirit.
I see well Toulalan, hopefully. But whoever he is, the old guard need to leave to let him take his place. They served well France, thank you Coupet, Viera, Thuram, Makelele, even Henry.
I don't speak of Domenech from day one I think he is a moron, for a start he believes in horoscopia lol. by by, good riddance.
Yeah but my qualm is whether he should of called it at all. There was no real obstruction, when you look at it there was barely anything in it. The refs have been very inconsistent with the red card or penalties this tournament, many that should have been called where not and penalties that shouldn't be called are.

Their was definite obstruction and some contact, it really was very poor defending from Abidal since the ball was so far away from him when he made the tackle.
