He probably thinks Libya can blow it up or something with some mythical navy they might have.
Siege of Tobruk - One German POW said: "I cannot understand you Australians. In Poland, France, and Belgium, once the tanks got through the soldiers took it for granted that they were beaten. But you are like demons. The tanks break through and your infantry still keep fighting." Rommel wrote of seeing "a batch of some fifty or sixty Australian prisoners ... marched off close behind us—immensely big and powerful men, who without question represented an elite formation of the British Empire, a fact that was also evident in battle."
BS my friend,
there's nothing Lybia can do against our fleet even with Tu-22 and Mig-29SMTs(which aren't really the cutting edge of technology) .
By the time you guys we'll have these assets, Cavour will sail the seas with a complement of 16-20 F-35B Stealth strike fighters, EH-101 Heliborne Early Warning for air cover coupled with an Empar radar, Aster-15 and 2 Otomelara Super rapido (76mm) with guided antimissile Davide/Dart rounds. It will be escorted by at least 1 Horizon class destroyer, 2 Fremm GP, 2 Fremm ASW and 1-2 U-212A SSK (that means 5 more Empar radars and lots of Aster 15/30 missiles).
Add to it that the range would allow us to employ also the air force assets: EF-2000 Typhoon, Tornado IDS MLU, eventually F-35A Lightning 2.
I'm sorry but we are the 8th country for military spending and 7th industrial/economic power with the world's 5th navy, you better don't mess with us or you'll experience another general Graziani (remember that name, rings any bell?).
