In this issue, it is only appropriate to feature an angel. As we thought of a face to grace our cover for the Holidays, everyone’s choice was Antoinette Taus. After all, it wasn’t just her face that belongs to an angel. Her character and personality shows a very refined young woman blessed with grace, talent and wisdom. Toni, as she is fondly called by friends, is a true angel on earth.... – by Nona Castillejos-Clemente, Editor-in-Chief
These days, while a lot of showbiz personalities are opting for very grand wedding celebrations, the very angelic Antoinette Taus prefers it simple, solemn and with only her closest family and friends around to witness one of the most important events in her life, her wedding.
Toni is one of the most popular actresses-performers of this generation. Her showbiz career continues to flourish since her childhood days and has now established a name in the industry for her versatility. At age 22, while getting married is still far from her mind, she dreams about it like any other girl her age.
We chanced upon her once afternoon during her break from one of her studio tapings and she gladly shared with us her wedding thoughts.’
Here listen to what this charming angel has to say.
Arnie: At this point of your life and career, what are your thoughts on marriage?
Toni: I think every girl dreams of her wedding day. I’ve always been excited with the thought of getting married someday. Even years ago, I’ve already been fantasizing what I’d want my wedding to look like and where I want the ceremony and reception to be held. But even with these thoughts, I do not want to get married yet at this age. Not because I feel that it is not proper or that I am not ready. I just want to achieve more in life before finally setting down.
Arnie: Do you see yourself settling down 5 years from now?
Toni: Hopefully, five years from now I’d like to be successful in whatever path I choose to take in the next few years. And maybe, just maybe if I am successful, I’ll probably be getting married by that time ‘coz I’ll be around 27 or 28 years old in 5 years. Hopefully, i won’t just be successful career-wise but emotionally and spiritually as well. I really want to be prepared mentally, emotionally and spiritually before I enter into something as sacred and important as marriage.
Arnie: Kindly describe the ideal guy for this scenario.
Toni: First of all, I want a man who has a good heart, is God-fearing and will love me unconditionally no matter what may come our way. Of course, I want him to be a gentleman but strong as well. By strong, I mean he has to be able to stand for what he believes in and fight for it. I want a man who is successful...not rich, but successful.... Most of all, I want someone who I can share my hope and dreams with happily ever after...I say this because I truly believe that if you have love, nothing else matters...because love conquers all.
Arnie: What is your dream wedding?
Toni: I have two different scenarios in my mind of how I envision my wedding. the first option I have in mind is a traditional wedding similar to the wedding of Cameron Diaz in the move “My Best Friend’s Wedding”. I would like to fly in all my guests to a country in Europe and have the ceremony in a beautiful old church and the reception at a beautiful garden. I want it to be at night because I want the moon together with all the stars to light up the sky.
My second option for a dream wedding would be a tropical paradise. For the wedding ceremony itself, I’d like to be wed along the shores of the most beautiful beach in the world during sunset. The reception would be held somewhere along the beach in a nice tropical style. I want it to be something like a semi-formal luau. I just love the beach and the water.
Arnie: How do you want to look as a bride?
Toni: How I would want to look as a bride is pretty consistent for both of my dream weddings. Basically, I’d like to be in a white tube gown or dress. Nothing too sparkly or too beaded. I want my hair to be down flowing freely and I would like to have a tiara on my head for the garden wedding and flowers for the tropical one.
Arnie: What is your one wish before your wedding?
Toni: Like I said, my one wish would be to be successful in my career and to be able to make my family proud of me before I finally settle down and start a family of my own.
Arnie: Finally, to whom? Or at least describe your groom-to-be.
Toni: I believe that I already know him inside and out. But nothing in this world is for sure. Only God knows. I want to marry the man God has chosen for me and no one else. I pray everyday, even as early as now that God will bless me with the man He knows is right for me.
