The top two scorers in the League at this point are both 'Millers'. In first place is Greg Miller of the Buzzers who after four games has scored ten goals and assisted on four more for a total of 14 points. Greg is in his third season with St. Michael's. In the 2007-8 regular season Miller ended up with 67 points. He turns nineteen next month. His highlight this season is a five-goal outburst against the Red Wings.

Tyler Miller of the Port Hope Predators is in second place just one point behind Greg after also playing four games. The Fort Frances native is in his third term with the Preds. He ended up with 63 points last season and added 13 in just 6 playoff games. He had a five point night against the Voyageurs this season. Tyler turns 20 years old in November.

Bruce Crawford of the Chargers is the only other player with double figures in points having 13 from five games.

Watch for Bruce Crawford to stay at or near the top of the scoring race all season long, whereas the other players will have hot and cold streaks.

Not surprising that a player from the Central Division, Miller of the Buzzers, is leading the scoring at this point, since after 26 Central Division games, the average goals scored per game is approximately 10. If this keeps up, the top 10 scorers, at the end of the year, will be from the Central Division. This is about 1.5 to 2.0 goals more per game than the other Divisions at this point.

It begs the question, "what calibre are the goaltenders in the Central Division"?

SMC...how about the defense? or are the forwards that good? or is this division that good? or is it waterdown? Too bad the Central Teams do not interlock with the rest of the league...whats up with Aurora...is it just a little blip on the road to the RBC?

The way it is in the Central now 'Waterdown' could probably ice a team and be competitive!!

Ron...in your opinion...what do think scouts are thinking when they see these phenomenal stats from the scoring leaders? Do you think players from the CT division have an advantage over the other divisions?

You would have to ask the scouts that question but from what I have seen so far play in the Central is very wide open. I don't think the goalies are any worse than on any other team, there is no commitment to team defence, but it may be more to do with the season being very young and the coaches still trying to come to grips with what they have and need on the rosters. If you like lots of goals you will like the central, at least so far. There is talent to be sure anyone who witnessed the play of Greg Miller against the Wings and Josh McQuade's two shorthanded goals against the Waxers know that for a fact.

Of course it could be the defense or the forwards, however the 1st place that you have to suspect when 10 goals a game are scored, is the goaltending.

It is kind of amusing when you consider that one of the reasons that the Central Division was formed was to eliminate the high one sided scores against the so called "bottom feeders" in each of the former OPJHL divisions. Check out the scores so far in the Central Division, things have not changed much, in fact things are probably worse.

Great games for the fans, if you like a lot of goals scored, but ask yourself is it good hockey?

Tony, regardless of how we see it, I think Mississauga should just close down the carnival and go home. With one exception, let the good players go where they want, because I will tell you, they DO NOT WANT TO BE THERE!!!!
I knew Georgetown would demolish them, but I was being a little kind thinking maybe 8 to 2, but 11 goals scored on, where is the defence? What a travesty. Shame Shame.
Well, I am glad to see the Raiders win.

Well I guess everyone has come to the realization of what I have talking about regarding Mississauga. As there are no comments. That makes me feel real good, to know now that everyone is on the same wave length!!!!!

Bruce get out, if Jay Anderson says that if you want to be traded, you can, what are you waiting for? However, I know it is a bunch of bull****, they would not let you go anywhere, they are holding you back Bruce, from what could be a potential breakthrough for you, eleswhere.

I agree 100% with you "prolinesucks" it's time for Bruce to move on and get the exposure that he deserves by playing with a contender, it would be better for everyone involved!

Conversly, I'd love nothing more than to see Jay Anderson get a "REAL" opportunity to utilize his talents with an organization who will provide him the resources to excel!

Jay's a damn good coach, passionate hockey guy and even a better person! He truly cares about the players as opposed to all of the spin doctors out there who claim to have the boys best interests at heart, and then pull the rug out from beneath them as soon as an O.H.L. cut is available!

Two wasted talents with the Chargers, what a shame!

Phantom how right you are. Frustration is not even the word for it. I would be jumping on peoples backs as well, but he is jumping on the wrong people's backs. Let Mississauga put there money (pun) where their mouth is and sell Bruce because that is what they MAY do. ONLY IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT, and you can believe it will be above and beyong the norm guidlines!!!!!

"Phantom"

Missed your question re: the Tigers.

The Tigers are presently 1-1 and have 3 games this weekend, 1 against the new UCHC, 1 with Villanova and 1 with Trenton in the showcase. In my opinion they should win all 3 and hopefully bring their record to 4-1 come Monday morning. I don't think it is a "blip" on the way to the RBC, I think that the team started late and all the new players, some 15 of them, have not played together long enough at this point to reach their full potential. Also I think that the goaltending at this point is not up to scratch but will improve. For example both goalies, who had never played Jr "A" hockey before, were so nervous prior to their 1st game against the Otters that you could hear their hearts beating. It was very obvious, prior to the game, that they were in trouble.

I see no reason for "panic" at this point, all Cats have a built in trait of landing on the feet right side up. I'm sure the Tabbies will be landing on their feet very soon.

Remember "losing has never been an option in Aurora" and this season will be no exception.

I believe the Trenton game is Saturday afternoon @ 5.15 pm. The Tigers may be a little tired for Villanova on Sunday, but they should still be able to handle the Knights.
