In the afternoon Lindsay will face a battle in Trenton where the visitors eke out a 4-3 win.
A battle of the mighty mice in Villanova. I'll take UCC 5-4.
At least the Fury don't have far to travel as Ajax downs them 6-2.
Huntsville in North York and this should be a good one..Otters 4-3 in overtime.
Milton should be able to despatch ..or is it dipatch Collingwood in a crossover game..5-1.
Markham at Newmarket..another one to see..when in doubt go with the home side..6-5 in a shootout.
The Vees go to Bowmanville and I see an upset. Eagles 3-2.
Burlington gets a taste of another division in Port Hope..they are shaded 4-3 in overtime.
Mississauga at Streeetsville..does anyone care..Pirri-less Derbys against the perilous Chargers. Miss. two in a row win 7-3.
Understrength Wellington in Toronto..another minor upset J.C.'s bounce back to win 5-2.

.and an aside ..

If the Wings acquired Pirri as well as Crawford would the League have to implement a three-assist rule on each goal?

Upper Canada College beat Villanova 3-1 thanks in great part to the goaltending of Omar Kanji who got his second win despite conceding a goal within the first five minutes of the game. He then shut the door on the Knights stopping the remaining thirty seven shots. It was UCC's first road win in eleven tries.

The Muskies were victorious in Trenton hammering the Hercs 7-3. Kevin George led the attack with a couple of goals and an assist. Lindsay now has 31 to lead the Ruddock Division by three points over Kingston.

The Fury got a big win in Ajax edging the Attack 4-3. Tim Halloran scored three consecutive goals breaking a 1-1 tie. He ended up with three points on the afternoon.

It was the same score in North York where the visiting Otters took an shootout win. Justin Dicks and Jon Whitelaw's goals in the one on one gave Huntsville the extra point. Both players also contributed a goal during regulation. The win moves the Otters up to second spot in the Phillips.

Milton proved not to be very gracious hosts to the Blues of Collingwood turning them back 6-3. Ryan Stroz had two for Milton while teammate Justin Basso had a goal and helped with three more. The Icehawks capitalized on their powerplay chances scoring four times.

In the Central the Hurricanes are on the move as they scored five straight goals against Markham after getting behind 2-1 in the first. Thomas Patterson notched two for the winners while blueliner Jim Campbell added three assists to his goal. Six of the eight goals in the game were scored on the powerplay. The result means that Toronto now has a one point lead over the Dukes and Buzzers who are tied with 25 but Wellington still holds the trump card with four games in hand. The Red Wings and Markham both sit at 24 while the Hurricanes move up to 23.

The Eagles put a dent in the Voyageurs armor coming up with a 5-1 home win. Brian Kunetsky and Chris Rivest lead the charge with two goals apiece. Steve Evans with his 13th. of the year was the only player to beat Shea Cooper.

The Chargers came up with their second win of the weekend beating the Derbys 7-4 at Westwood. Erman Ali led Mississauga with two markers. They scored five times in a big second period to key the win after trailing 2-0 at the end of one. Bruce Crawford's ex-linemates Adam Bevilacqua and Brent McGrail had big nights. Bevilacqua accounting for four points and McGrail five.

Goals galore in an interlocking game in Port Hope where the Predators got the extra point in winning 8-7. Greg Carey and Dan Krug both scored in the shootout. The home team was never ahead in the game but came away with the two points anyway. In addition to his shootout success Carey scored twice for the Cougars in regulation. Anthony Tapper scored his first two of the season for Port Hope but the real hero again was Tyler Miller who sent the game into extra time scoring with but a second showing on the official clock. Burlington are now tied with Oakville for second in the MacKinnon.

A nailbiter for the fans in Toronto where the Junior Canadiens and the Dukes waged war and had to settle for a tie after three periods. Wellington forced extra time after being behind 5-3 with goals from Jake Mahoney, his first of the campaign and Max Bobrow, with his second. Paul Rodrigues scored twice for Toronto. The Dukes had the last word in this one though as they took the overtime win on a goal by Kyle Crawford.

Wellington has 5 games in hand over Toronto and Stouffville, 4 games in hand over every other team in the Central.

As I have said, it won't be long before the class of the CD (Dukes) pull away from the rest of the Central Division. The only parity that will be left, after Cobourg falls to 7th place, will be the 5 teams from 2nd place to 6th place. In other words the CD will be no different than the rest of the OJHL, the OHL, NCAA, AHL, NHL or any other hockey league in the world for that matter.
