Is Crawford Playing Tonight???

Hamilton has scored 7 goals already against Toronto and the 2nd period is not over yet. So far not 1 point from Crawford but his name is on the game sheet. I can't believe that he would not have a least a point at this point since he is supposed to be playing with Diamond and McQuade who have some points.

IS CRAWFORD PLAYING FOR THE RED WINGS OR NOT?????????????????????

Cancel the question, Crawford just picked up an assist on the Red Wing's 8th goal.

Thank God it's over, now Bruce can get down to doing what the the Wings got him for, scoring goals.

Final 12-6 Hamilton.
High-octane hockey !

McQuade with five goals ! Pageau had three and three.

Ron, I do not think anyone meant to take anything away from any Red Wing.
It is just Crawford has been the topic of the week as you well know.

1 assist and 4 PIMs when the Wings scored 12 goals? Why all the hype?

With all the excitement and dialogue, you'd think the Red Wings bottle his sweat and use it as an energy drink.

I attended the game, what a game! Hamilton looks strong and Toronto showed flashes of excellence in the third and late in the second! McQuade and Pageau played exceptional.

Crawford didn't look like Crawford but he still played a solid game away from the puck and changed the game a bit with his size, physical play his hype! I give him a break he hasn't played in a month and before that was with Mississauga (which really doesn't even count as playing)!

I watched this young man play a lot last year, my prediction is once he gets back into game shape and speed look out! He is a very very smart player playing with some very dangerous teammates.

I suggest that both Hamilton and Toronto start scouting for new goaltending.
It was the worst I have ever seen, in 20 years, and defense that's another story, turning you back on a player coming in!! Whew.

Could it be someone finally agrees with me when it comes to the "house league" goaltending and defense in the Central Division?

Put on your helmet "Proline" you are about to be dumped on by those who consider CD hockey as the greatest, as one calls it, "High Octane" hockey.

At this rate, McQuade, Crawford and company could set a "world" scoring record. More power to them, if the opportunity is there, why not, they will never find an easier "Scorer's Paradise" again.

There's no denying that the Central Division seems to be much more offensively oriented. There's nothing wrong with that.

My question to you is this. If you hate all this offensive hockey, why are you so excited about Jerome Dupont going to the QMJHL? Asides from the obvious advancement in his coaching career, he's going to a league that has a reputation for offense, more offense and the odd stellar goalie. That sounds to me like the "Central Division" of the CHL.

"The QMJHL has traditionally adopted a rapid and offensive style of hockey. "The Q" is known for producing more high-quality offensive players and goalies than defencemen. Former QMJHL players hold many of the Canadian Hockey League's career and single season offensive records.

Hockey Hall of Fame alumni of the QMJHL, include Mario Lemieux, Guy Lafleur, Ray Bourque, Pat Lafontaine, Mike Bossy, Denis Savard, Michel Goulet and goalkeeper Patrick Roy."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_Major_Junior_Hockey_League

I look forward to you posting about JD's successes in the QMJHL and your observations about how it too is house league hockey due to all the goal scoring.

Oh, just for fun, here's the scoreboard from yesterday's action in the Q.

VdO 4 Rim 5
Bat 3 SNB 4 Shoot.
BaC 3 Chi 4
Dru 7 Lew 1
Rou 2 PEI 8

Your right when you say bruce is a very good player, there are alot of good players on Hamilton, which means there probably will not be enough icetime to go around. In Mississauga as much as you think they are not a good team, bruce got is own way and as much ice as he wanted, in my opion Mcgrail is a much better player who plays both ends of the ice.Hamilton gave up alot to Mississauga to get a few points, i would say mississaugavery smart in that department.

So far Crawford has not been impressive at all. He would be ranked just an average player on the Wings. Could not believe he was on the power play in first 2 games. Pageau, McQuad and Diamond are much better.

Fear not Proline, I suspect no one will take you to task over your comment. You posted your opinion, cool. Not everyone was going to embrace the Central.

People like SMC would rather attack everyone who comes out in support of the Central. Calling them fools and screaming 'you know nothing about hockey if you like the Central'.
SMC brags himself as a former owner/coach in this league. A classic example of what is wrong in hockey "Let's not try anything new".

I thought he would make his opinion clear then drop it. Then I thought he was just driving it home. The way he has kept at it has fallen into the bitter, jealous old man area whose team was left out of the Central.

When you have members like SMC making fools of themselves you cannot help but have fun with it.

I am the one who called the Central "High Octane hockey". When I read that the San Jose Sharks are called 'high-octane Sharks' because they score a lot, I feel that when I call the Central high-octane that maybe I could be on the right track.

Hey Wex, in the words of a Forum member that e mailed me last week, "I think the fleas have got to the Dog's brain".

Proline said that the goaltending the other night in the 12-6 game was the worst he had seen in 20 YEARS. That's a pretty strong and sad statement, if I had said that you would have been on me like a pit bull.

I was probably the 1st to comment on how bad the goaltending and defense was in the Central. Everyone's comments on the CD are opinions, except when it comes to me. Funny though how others are now starting to agree with me, but that's OK because according to you they give opinions, I don't.

I don't know what your problem with me is, maybe it's jealousy, maybe you don't like Italians, maybe life has treated you badly. What is it that has made you the bitter person that you are.

I am very proud of what I have done for hockey over the past 40 years. What have you done for hockey in your lifetine? how many $$$$ have you contributed to hockey? To use an Italian expression "I made my bones long ago" when it comes to hockey. As far as I have been told, your hockey involvement has been that of a timekeeper for the Wexford organization, correct me if I'm wrong.

By the way if you want these "come back" comments to end, then stop using me as a "whipping post" for every negative CD thread posted by others. You stop I stop, it's as simple as that.

Continue and I continue.

Don't take it so personally SMC57, I too have been ripped a new Ahole for not complying with the masses, by NOT embracing their version of the newest, latest and greatest play toy for the rest of us to enjoy!

Now I'm not going to be so cynical as to suggest that this "Elite" (teehee) division was created by and for the marginally talented offspring of wealthy owners, but hey there's no doubt that the pond style brand of hockey certainly won't have these kids looking over their shoulders as to where the next hit is coming from will it?

This division (at least I believe) is an amazing avenue for players to point whore and pad their stats for the unsuspecting scouts who will no doubt be looking to recruit them! Then once daddy drops a few greenbacks into the NCAA athletic departments budget, then the lie will be kept alive and well!

But one question that I do have for Wexdog as well as al of these wealthy owners is .... And then what?

Let's face it, while a few million may entitle these "I'm doing it for my son" owners, in the big scheme of things they're relatively small fish in a huge business where several more zeros in FRONT of the decimal are required! lol

Fleas on me ... lol. Only one FM emailed about me in a negative way ? I must being slipping.

I do not remember who made the comment about defense and goaltendings first either, but if you want to take credit for it that is fine by me.
"Everyone's comments on the CD are opinions, except when it comes to me." That is over simplified.
As far as others STARTING to agree with you, where the hell have you been ? They have always been here.
You give your opinion, yes you do and how. A gift that keeps giving and giving with no end in sight.

No problem with you, damn you brought me DHC/RBC pucks.
Italians ... please, give it a rest. You can really be an ass without trying.

Me bitter ?
Ok let us try a little test ...
you ready ?

CENTRAL DIVISION !

SMC ... SMC ... (now at the top of my lungs) S M C !
Calm down. Easy now. Have a cool drink of water.
You ok now ? Has the self admitted RED(I see red when it comes to the CD) gone now.

Alright test over.

Absolutely no doubt you are very proud of yourself. I cannot compete with your record.
All I ever did was time/scorekeep for Wexford. I also was a houseleague coach for three years.

If I stop, you will stop ? I was thinking the same thing.

Wait a minute ...

Exactly what do you mean by you will stop ? What will you stop ? Just want to be clear.

"Could it be someone finally agrees with me when it comes to the "house league" goaltending and defense in the Central Division?"

This is one game and yet you slam the entire division (again on this tread and others). Yes the scores are higher in the Central (but not by much if you check the other forum Average goals scored per team per game). The other divisions have had their share of blowouts but nary a word about them.
What is your answer to CSTR?
I guess you were not a fan of the Gretzky/Oiler era when last shot wins ruled the day.
Why do you care so much? Lets just agree that it is a different brand of hockey and stop slamming the young men that play the positions that you so love to slam. When the playoffs start let the best team win!
As you pointed out about Jerome, this league is supposed to develop talent so if you are happy with your team, keep it positive and move on.

"CSTR"

Oh my God, I can't believe it, you are now comparing the Central Division to the QMJHL. Why stop there, go right to the top, how about the NHL.

As per your info, scores of the last 6 games in the Q:

Vdo 4 Rim 5
Bat 3 Snb 4
Bac 3 Chi 4
Dru 7 Lew 1
Rou 2 Pei 8
Sha 3 Que 1

Total goals = 45. Average goals per game 7.5.

Last 6 games in the Central Div:

Sto 2 Cob 5
Ham 7 Nmk 1
Nmk 3 SMC 4
Mar 6 Wel 1
Ham 12 Tor 6
Wel 8 Cob 7

Total goals = 62. Average goals per game 10.3.

From the above, I would say that the Central is more "offensive" than the Q, but I suspect that, and you can call me crazy, the goaltending in the Q is a a few cuts above the Central.

The above comparison, in my opinion, is a lttle ridiculous, however I am just following your lead.

I'm comparing offensive-minded hockey with offensive-minded hockey and I already acknowledged that the Q was a cut above.

I'm merely pointing out your ex-coach son-in-law is heading off to work in a league who's style you've been cutting up from Day 1.

i think 2 no name goalies when you have 2 good goalies, a questionable defenceman when you have 6 big strong D and a neverwas forward on a team with a completely stacked offensive front for a guy like this is a bargain.
