Wings Goalies

okay, hamilton seems to be on a solid roll as of late. They are scoring ALOT of goals, and when i mean alot, im saying 19 in the past 2 games, which is almost unheard of. They have solid players up front with pageau, mcquade, diamond, and not too mention mr. crawford...

Well, whats the goal tending situation these days? They have already used 4 goalies, with a grand total of 4.50 GAA! Which is ridiculous!

The central does bring scoring but goaltending wins championships! Are the wings set in net for a long playoff run? Who is the best tender in the central?

Maybe Ron can help me out...because hamilton looks very strong, but without steady tending, the playoffs may be cut shorter than hoped!

Cheers!

Looks a lot like Behling may turn out to be the GUY..but if not it may be back to the drawing board..again...the best one I have seen in the Central and this may sound silly..Kori Coelho of StoufFville..outside the Central the best I have seen this season Andrew Hare of the Cougars.

and we are fooled into thinking that the central was for development.

HA hA. ..trades and acquiring players does not sound like development.

Development should be what it says "DEVELOPMENT" of the players you already have.... seems like they are just like the other teams- making moves to win at all costs.

I already mentioned in a prior thread, the goaltending is pathetic, the defense does not seem to have their lights on at times. You are absoutley
right, the better start scouting for goaltending!!!!

Wow what does it take for guys to relax, seven straight W's and you still just can't say something nice Management knows what is going on and are addressing what needs to be addressed but for the boys on this Team they are playing well. I guess it would just kill some people to recongize the players that are playing their heart out let's just find holes and rip people. You know what if you want to rip some one or something try ripping the Spectator for not covering this group of great players, it's a damn shame.

I think the poster is thinking ahead to Friday night, actually it is six..and I agree with you re the Spec..full page ads put in by the club but no game coverage by the paper, just the scores and sometimes the standings. If you want info you have to go to the Mountain News..but then not all Wings fans live on the mountain. Spec only cares about the Bulldogs and the NHL and once a week high school stuff. Ugly.

Just a thought...

How would the Spec react to a suggestion that the ad might be dropped because of the lack of coverage? Not a threat but close? After all, if the club gets no coverage why should the paper get advertising revenue. I appreciate that the revenue is only a drop in the bucket but maybe it might draw someone's attention to the issue.

Maybe the club should just advertise in the Mountain News?

The sad part is that I see Spec sports writer Scott Radley at every game. He did a nice story on Joey Diamond but i've yet to see any game coverage in the paper. Finding results is an adventure. The T.V. station has had a crew at the games a couple of times but if you don't watch the 11 o'clock news you don't hear about it again. Sad but true the city media seems give alot of coverage to the cities losing teams and they have a chance to get people excited about having a winner. A team most families could enjoy watching without going broke and they ignore them. I guess they are waiting for that NHL team to arrive. LOL

Just because the goalies in the central have high numbers doesn't mean they are bad goaltenders. The central division is a highly offensive league. Look at the great talent...Mcquade diamond jobb iuorio potts crawford rodrigues docking to name a bunch off the top of my head. The goaies don't get teh chance to play the whitbys and UCC's and Mississaguas's of the league to improve their numbers like all the other goalies in the league do. They don't play in a defensive-minded division like the Ruddock. It's a battle every night with high high end talent blasting pucks and making unbeleiveable and smart plays for a complete 60 minutes. The majority of the goalies in teh central can play the position. Put them in any other division and every one of their numbes would be considerably better. Don't blame the kids. Blame the coaches for preaching the offensie systems. IF they cared about low GAA they would put in place defensive systems such as the trap and play to win 3-2 every night. But instead the coaches let their players play (as they should) so goals are going to happen at both ends of teh ice. I think you have to judge the goalie on if he can consistelty make that big save late in the game when his team is winning 5-3 or 5-4. And unfortuantely thereare no stats for that.
