Any Saturday night surprises? Perhaps not..

The game of the night should be at the Alcott where the Raiders host the Blades. Georgetown trails Oakville and Burlington by three points in the MacKinnon so they will want to put their best feet forward against probably the best team in the League. The Raiders win it 5-4 in regulation.

Another big matchup sees the Otters go to Oranageville. three points separates the top four in the Phillips and a win by Huntsville would see them take top spot. They do just that 3-2 in overtime.

In an afternoon contest the Eagles go to Peterborough though much improved they can't stop the shooting Stars who win 5-2.

Streetsville in Bramalea in a battle for eighth in the MacKinnon. Lots of goals here and the Derbys win 8-5.

The Capitals play their 26th. game, the most in the Division, at Mississauga and they should take this one 7-4.

The Hurricanes are in Chessswood to to play the J.C's, they can move to within one of Toronto with a win but the home team has too much power and prevail 4-1.

The Muskies will be looking to extend their Ruddock lead to three points as they crossover to play Upper Canada College. They win but not by a landslide..4-2..

The Bears of Seguin host the Blues of Collingwood. This goes to a shootout with the Blues getting the extra point 5-4.

The BeeHives, shutout last night in Huntsville, look for better things on home ice against the Panthers of the Ruddock. This could go either way but the home side gets the call 3-2.

Question..does anyone know if McQuade faces a suspension for his actions last night in Markham?

McQuade received an M22, M35 and a GM26 last night. From what I can see from the OHA's list of suspendable infractions, none of the above carry a suspension, however I may be wrong.

Anyone else agree or not?

No I do not believe so, but I am not sure. Hopefully Kev comes along and answers this.

In short there will be nothing to come of it. Here is the suspension poster for 08-09:

The GM26 is automatic after getting two Misconduct Penalties in the same game.

He was given a GM35 - Failure to Go Directly To Penalty Box.

In actuality - for those who were watching the game. He was IN the penalty box already sitting and then got back out to follow off the Markham player being ejected. In my opinion that's a GM33 which is suspendable.

In the single matinee performance the Peterborough Liftlock Stars fended off the Eagles of Bowmanville by a 3-1 count with goals from Mac Balson, on the powerplay, his twelfth, Jake O'Connor, his fourth and a last minute marker by Trevor McKinney, his fourth as a Star and fifteenth overall this season. Blueliner John Bull..now how can you not like this name?.. scored his third for the Eagles. With the victory Peterborough finds itself just three points behind Kingston and four points adrift of Lindsay in the Ruddock Division. Neither the Stars' Matt Cadieux or the Eagles' Gatlin Burt were overly stressed in their respective nets as only four dozen shots were recorded in toto in the three periods.

In a tight one the Panthers edged the BeeHives 2-1 in the heart of Dixie with Jeff Broekema scoring the winning marker three minutes from the end.

In a battle of the strugglers in the MacKinnon the Derbys welcomed back Brandon Pirri who scored three times but it was not enough as the Blues of Bramalea won the game 6-4.

An unexpected lopsided score in Georgetown where the Raiders blasted the number one Blades 10-2. Andrew Marcoux, Jordan So, David Mathers and Marcus Pryde all scored twice for the winners. After a scoreless first period the Raiders exploded for six in the second to the Blades one.

It was much closer in Orangeville where the Otters eked out a 3-2 win. Tyler Crawford had the game winner and Devin Mantha scored both goals for the Crush. Huntsville now leads by a single point in the Phillips.

The Hurricanes notched a big win in Toronto 4-3. Chris McKay led them with two scores including the winner. The last two J.C. goals were scored at 19.17 and 19.58.

The Seguin Bruins got a much needed home win 6-4 over Collingwood. Ian DeLong scored two and he now has nineteen for the year. He also assisted on two goals. Brent Mueller had three helpers for the winners.

The Chargers scored first against Brampton but then the Capitals roared back with six in a row. Tyler Leimbrock had a goal and three points for Brampton. Ex Red Wing Tyler Campbell scored his first for Mississauga. Final 6-2.

Yes there was...

Upper Canada downed the first place Muskies 4-3 in a shootout. Jesse Biduke's late third period goal for Lindsay forced the extra time. I t was his second of the game. In the shootout Tom Bilski was the only successful one in fourteen attempts.
