Will the rumour mill be substantiated tonight in Georgetown with the appearance of a certain Mr. Pirri (junior)? Either way the Raiders will have too much oomph for the Chargers. With a 7-2 win tonight Georgetown go to just one point behind the Blades and Cougars and they have games in hand on both...a good time to be a Georgetown fan.
A brace in the Phillips with the Bruins in the heart of Dixie looking for road win number three and they get it in overtime 5-4.
The Tigers go on the road to Upper Canada and with a win they can get into a second place tie with the Otters. Aurora does get by 4-3 in regulation.
Georgetown Raiders' newest addition number 20 Brandon Pirri, ex. of the Streetsville Derbys made his debut at the Alcott and picked up a powerplay goal, the last of the game, and an assist in their 10-1 demolition of the hapless Mississauga Chargers. Tony Capobianco had a stress-free night in the Raiders cage having to stop just sixteen shots. Mark McGowan, Jeremy Wick and Andrew Marcoux all scored twice in the rout. McGowan and Wick, with both of his goals, even tallied shorthanded. With the big win the Raiders now have 39 points one behind co-leaders the Blades and Cougars but have one game in hand on Oakville and two on Burlington. Kris Schmidt got the only Mississauga goal early in the second.
The BeeHives had too much power on this night for the Bruins and downed the visitors 5-2. Jason Demetrius led Dixie with two goals, one while his club was playing a man short. Josh Moles was responsible for the Bears' only markers in the third period, both scored with the man advantage.
The travelling Tigers clawed the UCC 10-2 to move into a second place tie with the Otters of Huntsville in the Phillips. One way traffic at the Ricoh as the big guns on the Aurora team had the Collegians on the ropes all game long. Domenic Monardo and David Morley paced the winners with two each. Former Blade Monardo added three assists for the five point night. David Blair was mostly an interested spectator as Upper Canada only directed 20 shots on net. Jonathan Memme and Justin Brooks both scored their first goals of the season for the College.

Ironically with his move from the hapless Derbys to the powerful Raiders Pirri lost any chance of becoming scoring champion, but realistically with the Central teams playing four more games than the other divisions the winner should come from one of its clubs.

Another major discrepency between the Central and the other Divisions.
The Ruddock, Phillips and MacKinnon play a 49 game schedule, while the Central plays 53 games. Based on that, logic would say that the scoring title should be determined for all at the end of 49 games. All scoring in the extra 4 games in the CD should not be included. Logic says that, but when did the OHA ever use logic.
Better still, since the CD have proven to date that they are really a "league of their own" they should have their own scoring title eligible only to CD players. I can just see it 2 players 1 from the Ruddock and 1 from the CD tied after 49 games. The Ruddock player is finished after 49 games but wait a minute the Central player scores a goal in the 50th game and wins the scoring title. Surely this CANNOT happen and saner heads will prevail, but then it's been a very insane season so far.
It will be interesting to see how the OHA will handle this problem.

Ron, the game was at the Hershey Centre. Not your fault, pointstreak shows the game played at the Ricoh Centre in error. Great Arena to watch a game, obviously the Tigers loved it also.

when an NHL is traded, his points are included and the stats he gains with his new team is added to his old stats. The points that Pirri gained with Streetsville should be added to the points he gains with Georgetown
Cheers!

Keep in mind the NHL is a multi billion dollar business. The OJHL is run by volunteers. Things get done when someone has free time after work and when the family is taken care of.

Pirri still keeps his points from Streetsville and remains in the race for the scoring title. His stats will be combined togther at some point in the next week or so. All I'm saying is that it doesn't happen instantaneously or within a few minutes like the NHL because this league relies on volunteers to get things done. When a trade happens, teams submit the trade paperwork to the OJHL Commissioner and the newly signed card to the OHA Registrar. About once a week, all approved transactions are forwarded to the person responsible for updating this portion of OJHL website. When this person has time to update, he enters the trade and fixes the stats.

Just to verify Kev's correct information regarding points -- Take a look at Hamilton and you will see Crawford & Revell have been updated as the paperwork was submitted and transfered.
