Just realized that if Ajax could gets its GA down it would go along way in making this team an elite club. GF is excellent as well as home record. Need to improve on away record while recent record(last 13 games - 8 losses 5 Wins) shows some slippage. Overall, good job by Durant.

I think MattyB is highlighting what everyone knows but the fact is that Cary's hands are tied on this one. One area Ajax can improve on(without removing the owners son) is reducing penalties. Some of the same dumb penalties are taken by the same people. Cary has to stop this if the attack are to get better.

There is nothing wrong with playing both goalies, but when there is such a discrepancy between the two goalies stats then you have to wonder. Watching the Waxers over the years they have almost always played both goalies. In the dark ages before pointstreak and stats were hard to come by I never really knew who the number 1 goalie was in Markham from season to season.

They are currently playing above .500 hockey and if they can maintain that to the end of the season, this will be their first + .500 record since they joined the league.

one of the goalies has a nifty little 5.99 GAA! A central may be looking to improve their goaltending situation and pick him up! LOL

If the Ajax Attack makes a couple of key trades they could give Kingston and Lindsay nightmares, but would there be any trades willing to go to Ajax hard to say!

Mind you they are playing very well this season.

Well maybe Mississauga Chargers or UCC would be willing to make a trade with Ajax or even a cash deal, dont know what players from those clubs would be on the Ajax scope to help their club improve, or any other clubs that would be willing to make a deal.

After reading about Pirri and the phantom points why doesn't the owner just swap the gaa with the other goalie... no one will care.

I think the other goalie would care giving his GAA to the other tender when he is 8th in the league overall!

Last 16 games Ajax is 5 wins 11 losses. Last 5 games 40 gaa 8 per game. Below 500 for the 1st time and heading downwards real fast. Besides the goaltending issue what are the solutions for turning the titanic away from the iceberg? Durant is like the captain going down with the ship and starting to lose it(possibly for a 2nd time).

Stein has lost 8 of those games and was pulled in another. The team seems to have a defensive problem, but how demoralizing is it for the guys on the team when the less able goaltender keeps starting when your team is on a huge down streak?

Maybe this coming weekend Ajax will get things together with back to back games vs Pickering,if they cant it could mean desaster for the Attack club, not taking anything away from Pickering but these are games that Ajax should win but the final score tells all!

Just checked the Ajax schedule over the next 14 games; they play 3 weak games,3 moderate games, and 8 tough games. The tough games include teams like Lindsay,Peterborough, Burlington(games that will probally be lost). Assuming Ajax wins the 3 weak games(6points), 2 of the moderate games(4points),and say 2 upsets of tough games(4 points)that only gives you 14 out of a possible 28 points at best.

Yes you are correct but Ajax has games in hand on all others in the Ruddock, but games in hand are only that if you cant win them.

How many games has the equipment manager won or lost? I thought people on this forum had some hockey knowledge, blaming the equipment guy is weak!

Looking at "real stats" - I would say goaltending is an issue. The team works it's but off to score, then when they need a big save, it's not there and that can be very frustrating.

Dont blame the equipment guy. Just end the Watters-Gertzakis scholarship showcase season and sit their asses when they screw up. As for the Stein OHL/NHL showcase season its goin to end up like GM-a bankruptcy or bailout. Turn the team around by moving Watters down to the 3rd line where he belongs, send Stein back to Midget A where he belongs and stop playing Gertzakis on powerplay where it really becomes 4 on 4. Now you have a contender.

rippedskate - I don't understand your thinking on moving Watter's to 3rd line. He is the leading the team in points and whether or not you like him he is scoring goals and getting assists. At the end of the day he is producing and as long as he produces then he will get the ice time. This is no different then what happens with all the other teams in the league. The guys that are putting up the points are getting the majority of ice time. As far as I can see he has been a major contributor to (not the only reason) why Ajax has enjoyed some success this season.

Ian Watters total points are supported by Durant, Gertzakis setting him up to play, and please read this carefully 1. With the best forwards-imagine if he was interchanged with Ajax's real next best forward.
2. Constant powerplay-with no repercussions-for screwups
3. Powerplay setup to help him score-its really all about him
4. No repercussion for failure to backcheck
5. No repercussion for his stupid penalties
6. etc.etc.

Will give him credit that he can put the puck in the net but the fact is he is a very poor skater and lacks strength to fight for the puck. Backcheck is poor.

When one is given a blind eye to all his errors, what does it do? It allows him to develop CONFIDENCE.
This amount of CONFIDENCE is only given to a select few, namely Ian Watters,Bobby Gertzakis and Stein. This team is really about three players and thats why in the end they will not have true success.

P.S. If these above opportunities were given to other players on the team and allowed to develop their CONFIDENCE(please note how I highlighted the word CONFIDENCE)then these same players would also be leading the team in scoring.
2nd P.S. I don't place to much truth in his statistics as his father tried manipulating the stats in his minor years and since he controls the coaches on the bench he still controls the stats.

Last season Ajax ended up with 27 points.

This season, with 24 games left, they have 24 points.

Who is responsible for this impressive improvement?

Ripped, you better hope that no one here posts your real name. You obviously have some personal issue with those that you speak of, because you are so far off base that it's laughable. Maybe it would be better for everyone, including yourself, (especially if your true identity is ever revealed), to just crawl under a rock and stay there.

Estock, Last year Ajax was in a tougher division with very strong Markham,St Mikes,Vaughan, and Jr Canadians. Also, Dixie and North York had very respectable teams. This year the division is pretty weak compared to last years play.
