The Tigers can move within one point of the Otters in the Phillips as they travel to take on the Capitals form the MacKinnon tonight. Aurora 5-3.

The third-place Stars would like to inch closer to the top in the Ruddock, they have that chance tonight in Kingston but the Vees turn them back 4-3 in overtime.

Three games in the Central the Junior Canadiens are in Newmarket looking for a win that would put them in a third place tie. They get it 6-4.

The best last place team in the League, the Spirit, start a comeback with a home win against the struggling Buzzers 4-2.

The Waxers will be tied with the Red Wings if they can subdue the visiting Cougars. Markham 7-3.

The SPEC also has Burlington playing in Whitby. I suspect this is not correct as it is not on the Pointstreak schedule.

Ron,

The Cougars/Fury game the Spec has listed was played in late October. It was orginally scheduled for tonight but the Minor Midget Silver Stick Tournament starts tonight so it was re-scheduled.

Waxer fans, don't forget also that tonight we raise the banner from last season's championship, and it is your last chance to enjoy November admission prices, only $5.00 to enjoy tonight's game.

Heard Brampton fired their coach. Any truth to that?

Brendan Sullivan got his first shutout of the season stopping 27 shots as the Tigers had an easy time in Brampton winning 5-0 as Nick Vangog and Domenic Monardo each scored twice.

The Voyageurs shaded the Stars 3-2 in Kingston and in doing so took a four point lead atop the Ruddock. They had a 3-0 lead before Ryan Herlihey tallied twice for Peterborough. The two teams hook up again in Peterborough tomorrow night.

Jason Guy got a win in his first game in goal for the Hurricanes but he allowed six goals, fortunately his teammates scored eight times. Justin Hogan had a monster night for Newmarket being in on all but one of the goals scoring four and assisting on three. Chad Sumsion had a goal and five points. Paul Chiasson had the hat trick for the J.C's. Crowd of 1,413 must be the highest of the season so far.

The Buzzers score the first three in Stouffville but the Spirit came back with two of their own but that was it for the scoring in this one. Tyler Allen netted his ninth and tenth of the season to give St. Mike's a 2-0 lead. Eric Rubino made it 3-0 before Craig McDowell and Brandon Walker's first gave the hometown faithful hope.

The Waxers are back in a first-place tie with a slender 2-1 win over Cobourg. Dylan O'Neil had both Markham goals with one from the Cougars Patrick Jobb sandwiched in between. Chris Azzano stopped 27 shots to record the win. Troy Webster saved 36 of 38 Waxer shots.

Did anyone watch the Newmarket game on Rogers? if they had 1,413 fans you would be able to tell on the telecast.

If the Jason Guy fan club was in attendance, they must have been disappointed as Guy let in 6 goals. If it wasn't for Justin Hogan scoring 4 goals and assisting on 3 others, it could have been a bad night for Guy and the Canes, Guy or not. How many times is a player going to have a night like that.

Anyway the Canes did win but Guy's performance was less than stellar, a little reminscent of Wayne Savage last season. For the Canes sake I hope they didn't pay a lot of money for Guy and the reported $25,000 was just a rumour. Maybe the deal carries a non-performance and refund clause.

Ah, the Central gets better and better with each passing day.

SMC57, You seem to have changed your opinion on Jason Guy real quick.
It was only yesterday that you were adamant that any team with serious aspirations of getting to the RBC cup needed Guy in goal. After 1 game your ready to throw him under the bus. Let's wait a few games before we do that.
Give him time to adjust.

I know, but you have to admit 6 goals and 3 goals waved off by the referee Bain is not exactly a great start.

But I'm sure Guy will settle in in the next week or two.
