The game is now on Pointstreak. Hopefully the arena fixes whatever is wrong with the internet connection before tomorrow night's game against Buffalo.
Tonight in Whitby, Dylan O'Neil was outstanding in his first game since the trade that sent Brett Eagleson to Markham. He racked up 5 points, and was a force all night.
I have a very unique perspective on this trade, having watched both players all season long. Personally, I think both O'Neil and Eagleson was a square peg trying to fit into a round hole in Whitby, while O'Neil was a round peg trying to fit into a square hole in Markham. I think that both players will thrive with their new teams, as both are a perfect fit with the styles of the teams they are joining. It is one of those rare trades where both teams will benefit both from removing the player that doesn't fit, and adding the player that does.

Yes, once he was down by five, Carey Durant began pulling out all the stops. With about 15:00 left in the third, he called a timeout and then pulled Stein, and Ajax scored with the extra attacker. Then he pulled Stein again with 11:09 and 8:35 on the clock, but in my opinion he was going back to the well too many times. Personally, I would have let my team gain some momentum from the extra attacker goal, and let the chips fall where they may. The wakeup call has already been sent to the team. By pulling the goalie again and again, it ended up backfiring and deflating the team.

Nasty fight in this game - 20 year old Dunphy from Ajax took it to 16 year old Smith (Whitby). Smith is a very tough kid but met his match in the more experienced Dunphy. WHERE WERE THE LINESMEN ON THIS ONE! They did not do their job last night, when a player is hurt (and Smith was after the 1st punch)they should be in there to break it up.

I disagree about the fight. It was one-sided...but in favour of Smith.
Smith stumbled early on, because Dunphy stepped on his skate. He went down to one knee, but got back up. Smith ended up landing the last 25-30 punches of the fight, with about ten of them rattling off Dunphy's visor. And it was Dunphy who went down last.

I'll give you the fact that Smith threw more punches but most hit the helmet (as Dunphy did not remove the bucket as was discussed), my point was that Smith took more on the chin...did you see him the next day? Not pretty...by the way I love the way Smith plays the game, finishes every check and works his ass off, but a 16 year old should not be the fighter on the team.

What do you know about the relationship between the coaches and players? Who ever you are I think that you have way to much to say and don,t know anything. The coaches in Ajax have done a very good job and from what I hear they really like all the coaches. Ajax has got more points now then they have ever had since Stein took over the organization and they have had more longterm injuries than any other team in the Rudduck Division. You should pick another sport to report on because you dont know squat about hockey.

Sharpie;
"I agree. As a metaphor for what the perception is, that is acceptable."
Come on guys, with what/who has been in the news over the last few weeks and in the past.
I would think we would rather like to keep that kind of talk away from the game, far awhile at least.
