Perhaps the Terriers were feeling full of Christmas generosity but the final was Couchiching 3 Villanova 2. A win regardless of the score is always worth two points however and it gives them an eleven point lead on top of the Phillips as of press time. More amazingly the team has lost just one game in regulation in the three dozen they have played. Matt Smyth had two goals and one assist and now has a team-leading 65 points. Josh Cousineau netted one. Andrew Rocca opened the scoring and Domenic Alberga closed it for the Knights.

The big guns were firing in Aurora as the Tigers humbled the Blues of Collingwood by a 6-2 count. Domenic Monardo two tallies plus a like number of assists. Michael Sardella and David Morley each bagged a goal and two helpers. Like the Knights the blues scored the first and last goals of the game. The Tigers are now nine back of Couchiching in what is looking more and more like a futile attempt to catch them in the 14 games they have remaining.

North York got a measure of revenge for their 4-3 overtime loss Saturday night in Dixie as they faced the same team this afternoon on their own turf and came up with a 5-2 victory. With the win the Rangers move to within two points fourth-place Orangeville with one game remaining in hand. With the opening and closing goals of the game Rangers' sniper Connor Tresham has now registered a total of 25. Zach Pilote contributed with a shorthanded effort. Jason Kelly netted his number twenty. Two ex-Wings goalies vying in this game- Eddy Davey for the Rangers and Carson Hau for the BeeHives. Only 51 onlookers which must be a downer for a team with as good a home record as the Rangers have.

Lindsay failed to draw even atop the Ruddock with the Voyageurs as they went down 4-3 in Bowmanville. Peter Neal scored his second and third of the season for the Eagles the last one being the game winner. Leading pointscorer Mike Markovic assisted on three of the goals. Kevin George scored a pair for the Muskies and is now up to a team-leading 23. Shea Cooper got his 12th. win of the season in net for Bowmanville.

Adam Ancona got the overtime winner unassisted as the Chargers downed the Panthers 4-3 in Pickering. Kyle Ramsey got Pickering into the extra time with the tying goal on a powerplay in the last two minutes. Bryan Weinberg scored shorthanded for Mississauga.

Quite the performance for the twelve skaters of Streetsville as the Cougars continue to struggle along. Burlington fell behind 3-0 to the Derbys before coming back to get three themselves and send the game into overtime. Thomas Bark, David Grant and Nikita Mandrick scored for Streetsville and Nathaniel Domagala, with his first, Christian Powers and Dan Koudys, with his 17th.,replied for Burlington. The shootout featured only one goal and that by Colin Wright as the Cougars came away with the extra point.

Not sure what, if anything, is happening in Buffalo!
