The Dukes got back to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over the Spirit. Chris Ayotte's second period shorthanded goal turned out to be the winner. Donald Maloney spoiled Matt LaRochelle's shutoput bid with a little over five minutes remaining.
Couchiching started where they left off with a 4-1 win in Trenton. Josh Cousineau with the winning marker and he also added a pair of assists.
The Otters prevailed at home over North York 5-2 with Corey George bagging two, his second shorthanded. Troy Barss with only one coming into the game also notched a pair.
Toronto had its attack on form with an 8-5 road win against St. Mike's. The home team led 5-3 early in the third but the Junior Canadiens came roaring back with five straight for the win. Paul Chiasson and skylar Quinn had doubles. For the Buzzers Tyler Allen and Reilly Smith each scored twice.
Orangeville had a twenty shot advantage and beat Villanova 7-3. The Crushers led 4-0 after one and cruised to the win. For the Knights Shea Carey counted two.
The Tigers took a 7-4 road victory in Collingwood keyed by four second period goals. David Morley had two goals and four points and Domenic Monardo scored twice.
The Stars took a mis-step in their quest for top spot losing at home to the Predators 4-2. Chad McQuaid's second goal of the season was the winning one. Trevor McKinney's late third period goal cut Port Hope's lead to 3-2 but the visitors Anthony Tapper had an empty-netter to seal it.
Kyle Ramsey broke a 4-4 tie in the third and then scored two more for his hat trick as the Panthers won at home 7-4 over the BeeHives. Tyler von Engelbrechten potted two for the winners. John Girman scored twice for Dixie.
Mike Hawkrigg's overtime marker lifted the Blues to a 5-4 win against Mississauga. Scott Charbonneau had two including a penalty shot for Bramalea. Mike Moher replied with two for the Chargers. Moher's late third period goal, just twelve seconds left, brought the visitors back from a 4-1 deficit to force the overtime.
Extra time also in the other MacKinnon contest as the Icehawks edged the Derbys by the same 5-4 count. It took 25 seconds of the overtime for Aadam Martin to get his first of the season.
The Voyageurs were upset at home by the Fury 5-3. Down 2-0 after one period Whitby came back with five straight. Matt Gauld's ninth of the season won it for the Fury. 671 Kingston fans may have been in shock. Three of Whitby's five came on the powerplay.

Actually, the score in the Markham game should have been 6-3. On the fourth Newmarket goal, referee Frankie Rocca allowed the goal despite the fact that goaltender Daniel Jones kicked the net off the pegs before the puck was even shot at the net. The net was on approximately a 30 degree or so angle to the goal line when the puck went in. The timing of the net being knocked off was so blatant that before the puck even got to the goal scorer who shot the puck, I could hear Newmarket fans behind me screaming for a delay of game penalty to Jones, which should have been the call (since there was more than two minutes left, it would be a minor penalty as opposed to a penalty shot). But Rocca refused to check with the other ref or his linesmen, and remained adamant that the goal would stand.

The Eagles won big in Ajax by a 7-4 score and now are seven points ahead of the Attack. Five big goals for Bowmanville in the second period, they never trailed in the game. Matt Davis counted the game winner. Chris Rivest scored one shorthanded, only the second from the Eagles this season. Mike Markovic their leading scorer had a big afternoon with a goal and four assists. Dustin Curran had a three point game. Eli King got his first of the campaign for the Attack.
Peterborough built up a 6-0 bulge at home over Lindsay and went on to an emphatic 7-2 victory. They now trail the second place Muskies by four points with two games in hand. Trevor McKinney had two goals and an assist. He now has registered 15 for the Stars and 26 overall this season. Ryan Herlihey bagged his 22nd. Matt Cadieux stopped 33 shots for the win. All goals were scored at even-strength.
Lots of interest in all the remaining games in the Ruddock, a very competitive Division.
