Ron;
"Lindsay in Peterborough..lose this and the Stars will be third..Peterborough 4-3 in extra time."
You had me running in circles for ten minutes with this one.
I checked and double checked, then triple checked ! and I have come to the conclusion that ... I am lost. lol
I checked the standings and whether Stars win or lose today they will be third, at least for the time being.
Win or lose they still have enough games remaining to catch Lindsay or even Kingston, or get caught by Bowmanville or even Ajax.
Or ... were you making a prediction ?
Lose today and they will not catch second place.

Wexdog, Ron has done great this year but if anyone has a chance to catch the Stars i myself would say Ajax, with their scoaring power and number #30 David Jenkins between the pipes.

In recent memory there was a game where Milton beat Bramalea 19-0. Hamilton beat them a few years back 17-0, the game immediately after Brampton beat them 19-1.
The highest shot total I've seen was 82 in the OJHL. A few years back Marathon in the Superior League surrendered 110 shots in a 20-0 loss.

The mercy rule was obviously not in effect tonight at the Joshua Creek arena where the Blades demolished the Blues 17-1 in the most one-sided game of the season. Lindsay Sparks and Luke Moodie each had four goals and six point games. Just obtained from Brampton Chris Muise assisted on the first three goals and added another in the second. The other ex-Cap Tyler Leimbrock added five assists. Dustin Alcock and Kellan Lain each had two, Alcock ending up with five points and Lain four. Ryan Murphy had a goal and a five point night. Enough said.
Lots of goals in Georgetown as the Raiders edged the Capitals 6-5 on Evan Zych's goal with just over three minutes remaining in the game. It was the only goal of the third period. Jeremy Wick had the hat-trick for Georgetown.
Doug Clarkson led the Vipers scoring three times in their 7-2 defeat of the Derbys. Thomas Bark scored twice for Streetsville.
Upper Canada built a 3-0 lead but the Collingwood Blues ended up with the 5-4 win. Brian Doust's thirteenth of the season late in the third on a powerplay was the game winner. Ryan Johnson had two for the Blues while Ryan Martin did the same for the College.
Dixie scored at the 45 second mark of the first but North York scored four times without any reply after that. Jesse Hebscher's fourth of the season proved to be the game winner. Lane Floro stopped 29 shots for the win.
Corey George kick-started the Otters with two goals in the first six minutes and they cruised to a 9-3 win over the Bruins. Rob Waddell and Phil Moreau also tallied two each for Huntsville.
The explosive Red Wing scoring machine is spluttering. Shutout 6-0 by the Waxers in Newmarket they went scoreless in the first in Cobourg where the Cougars took a 1-0 lead and the home team added two more in the second before Josh McQuade tallied his 41st.and Brent McGrail, his sixth as a Red Wing cut the deficit to 3-2 after two. Ex-Wing Adam Place's second of the game six minutes into the final period was the winner. He also fought Wings' Justin Stevens late in the contest. McQuade was ejected early in the third for checking from behind. Bruce Crawford will probably miss the next Wing game as he was penalised for being helmetless as was his fighting partner Anton Zupancic right at the end. Final 5-3 Cobourg. The Waxers are at the Dave Monday night where a win would put them even with Hamilton at 51 points.

Don't count out the Cougars yet in the MacKinnon. Dan Koudys and Phil Brewer came up with two goals apiece as they beat the Chargers 7-4 in Port Credit.

Peterborough and Ajax both have 14 games left. For Ajax to pass Peterborough they would need to win at least 12 of those games and have peterborough lose 10 games. Even if Ajax was to win all 14 games then Peterborough would have to lose 8 of there final games, not including OT/SO losses. It looks like a real big uphill climb. Ajax did not help themselves with a performance like they had today. On top of that Peteborough is 12-3 in their last 15. Of Peterborough's remaining games they have 4 against teams with more points then them and 5 games against teams that are last or second last at the moment (Pickering X 3, Villanova, UCHC)

Great game boys glad to see the Cougs back in form! Also nice to see Place score a few against his former team. Only negative part about tonight was the thumping that the big Coug Zupancic took from Crawford, showed everyone a lot though fighting with that guy!
Keep them coming Cougars.

Markham has had a couple buy backs this season including kevin hudes in the first game of the showcase for getting 2 ten minute misconducts for yapping at the ref. MAybe its just a central rule but there are defintiely buy backs allowed in the regular season. I'm sure Bruce will be in the line up next game.

For a few years in OJHL history removing your helmet was a two game suspension. For about the last five years or so, it has been a "fine option" penalty. Whenever a penalty has a fine option attached to it, a team can simply mail a cheque and the player is allowed to play the next game.
I suspect that with the passing of Don Sanderson, you might see a movement in hockey circles to bring the 2 game suspension back.
In the playoffs, teams are allowed to "buy back" penalties that would normally be considered suspendable offences at the discretion of the OHA. Suspensions that cannot be bought back are match penalties, instigators, aggressors and majors for checking from behind.
