It's offcial, Josh McQuade is now playing for the Gatineau Olympiques of the "QMHL".

McQuade went to Gatineau for cash.

Another rumour terminated.

JD has been very busy, now has 3 players from the OJHL on the Olympiques, Alain Goulet of the Tigers, Paul Clancy of the Canes and now Josh McQuade of the Red Wings and I hear 1 from the Terriers may be in the works.

Do you think JD likes the OJHL?

In the end this might help Hamilton. Then again it might not. I'm going with Smyth from Couch. I think he has Major Jr experience already.

I have to agree that this move might help Hamilton more than hinder them. McQuade is a heck of a player, but sometimes you can have too many scorers and top skill guys on a team.

First step to receiving help is helping yourself.

Good luck and thanks Lone Wolf for all the 'highlight reel' plays...and to the other Wings a chance to stand up and be counted!

I would be very suprised if Smyth went to the Q, from what I have heard he likes where he is and is sick of Major Junior. He is the most talented player in the North.

I understand what you guys are saying about McQuade and it may not be as bad as it looks for Hamilton, it is the timing that I think will kill them, plus the fact that it is their leading scorer and not just a top scorer.

As soon as I saw "SMC" and "Scoop, Red Wing" I had an idea what it was.

On the Gatineau website - for English translation there is a very tiny "ENGLISH" upper right corner. You are correct on the Taylor signing.

funny dupont likes the central division's players more than SMC57 does. happy.gif

goulet, to be accurate was not playing in the opjhl anymore...ncaa div 1 for Nebrask-Omaha. so it was two current central division players and one former opjhl player..like those bus shelter/bench signs..you just proved the central division works LOL.

"PM87"

You can't be that "dumb".

If you think that Dupont picked Clancy and McQuade for their play in the Central then ya, you must be more than "dumb".

Clancy and McQuade played against JD and the Tigers for the past 2 and 3 years in the North division, Jerome knew how good they were long before the Central was born, so don't try to make it sound like Clancy and McQuade all of a sudden became Major Junior "A" caliber players by playing in the Central for 4 months.

Stop insulting everyone's intelligence, the only intelligence that you are insulting is your own, but then that may be impossible, since first you have to be intelligent to be insulted.

Are you telling me(all of us) that if McQuade had only scored 15-20 goals so far this season for Hamilton, that Dupont would still have signed him ?

And as far as Clancy goes why in the hult would Dupont want a Central defenceman ?
Now I could be wrong, but I think I remember you saying there was not one CD d-man worth his weight in ... well anything.

Also the overall point is still, these players are ... excuse me, were ... playing in the Central.

Talked to JD who is presently on a stressful road trip on the East coast, 4 games in 6 days including travel. I mentioned your comments about McQuade and Clancy and the CD suddenly lifting them to Major "A" status. I thought you would be interested in his comment, "thanks, I needed a good laugh right about now". I won't bore you with the rest of his comments about the Central, suffice to say that he is still laughing.

If the truth were known, JD has been after a few of the Canes over the past couple of years including Burkholder, Soso, Clancy and McQuade, however the Canes would not deal.

Is this supposed to mean something to me and other Central fans ?

One CD hater posts what another CD hater said is supposed to ... what ?

I expect nothing less from the two of you.

Your comments are so "asinine" they don't merit a reply.

By the way Wexy, I'm really impressed with your hockey experience, it should take up about a quarter page of my book. Now if I can get Matty B's and PM87's experience, I may get a full page out of it.

How small are your pages ?
It was only two lines, that means your pages have eight lines. lol

Is your book going into double digits in total number of pages ?

Oh and damn are you easily impressed.

He is going to hell a helluva team in gatineau - I saw them demolish a very strong and high flying Drummondville team 9-2 while i was in ottawa for the world juniors. Former redwing defencemen playing for drummondville too.

Just to keep the record straight it was 10-2 over Drummondville.

I agree Gatineau is going to be heard from come the playoffs, but then I could be a little biased.
