COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED! I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR EVERYONE'S OPINION!

Previous weeks rankings in Brackets

1) Georgetown (2)- big week for the raiders as they go undefeated picking up wins against Aurora, Milton and Huntsville. Seems that tougher times are behind them, but the Blades will continue to pursue them until they battle for supremacy on January 30th. How big the big three for the Raiders, Marcoux, Wick and Pirri are all on pace for 40 goal seasons!

2) Couchiching (1)- bump in road against the Otters dropped them out of first place in the rankings. They are still a lock for the division but they must stay focus, as they have two remaining against Orangeville and one against both of Aurora and Peterborough

3) Oakville (3)- some can argue the Blades have the easiest home stretch of all teams in the Mackinnon, but dates with the Cougars and Raiders remain on their schedule. They are both considered must win games if they want to catch Georgetown and gain home rink advantage throughout the Mackinnon playoffs.

4) Huntsville (4)- the were in serious contention to take FIRST place in this weeks rankings, but after gaining a 2-0 lead against Georgetown, they suffered 7 of the next 9 goals in a losing effort. They look to rebound this weekend with three games in three days. Dont worry Otters fans, the combined point totals for the teams they are playing is a miserable 46 (if you add Villys totals twice)

5) Markham (11)- what a job the Waxers have done down the stretch. Currently on a nine game winning streak that has propelled them to the top of the central division. The only game this week for Markham is Newmarket. They will then be given time to rest up before the final push.

6) Aurora (5)- their only loss was to the # one ranked team in the rankings. The Tigers have shown that they still have some fight left in them. They will be in a battle for second place, and important dates with Huntsville, Couchiching and Orangeville remain

7) Vaughan (9)- the vipers find themselves on a nice little run as well, gaining momentum for the playoffs. The vipers may be a team to watch out for if you are one of the top Mackinnon teams come first round. Clarkson and Peca are scoring at a consistent rate this season, which will help in their head to head against Mississauga this weekend.

8) Kingston (8)- the addition of Dustin Walsh sure has helped the Voyageurs thus far. In 5 games, he has registered 6 goals and 7 assists. He doesnt help as much as a Sunday afternoon win against Lindsay, to help Kingston secure the division

9) Wellington (6)- one game, one loss. Remember when Wellington had about 7 games in hand on everyone, they were consistently winning and every Dukes fan was happy? Well, now they will be happy to avoid a third place finish and a tougher road to the Central finals. One positive though, the division is still up for grabs

10) Peterborough (10)- Peterborough still has two 1-0 to accomplish against default which is going to help their cause. Im not saying that a game against Trenton would be too difficult to win anyway, it is the extra rest that the Stars will need before they push for second place in the Ruddock. They will need to make up ground now, because the last three games look tough; Kingston, Couchiching, Lindsay

11) Hamilton (7)- the once dominant, high scoring Wings are falling, and they cant rely on Josh McQuade to help them out anymore as the leading scorer in the league is gone. They still have an abundance of scoring, led by Nathan Pageau. Hopefully they can play like a team (not get greedy or lazy...ahmm) and get on a role before do or death time in the playoffs.

12) Burlington (12)- smooth sailing to a third place finish is nice for the Cougars. It provides them with a home rink playoff matchup against a team in which they SHOULD beat. The problem being that they will have to face wither Georgetown or Oakville come second round. A big step in accomplishing this goal will be to defeat Oakville on Saturday on the road.

13) Orangeville (15)- can you believe that Orangevilles leading scorer only has 36 points? Yet they keep on truckin in the Phillips. Fourth place is theirs to win (and theirs to lose), but if they can build on their 5 game winning streak, they should be in a good position for the post-season

14) Lindsay (13)- the muskies have some work to do before the playoffs are here. They need to dominate the teams below them to prove that they can finish teams off, and they need to defeat the teams ahead of them and go into the playoffs with confidence (sounds like every team needs this). They will need to hope that Peterborough loses a game or two so that the Muskies can get second place.

15) North York (NR)- welcome to the Power Rankings North York! The rangers have a nice home-and-home date with Aurora to prove to themselves that they can win in the playoffs.

Dropped from Rankings: Toronto(15)

Cheers!

If the Wings are not to drop any lower than tenth in the list Mr. Galati has to get the same effort from all the players that we see game after game from the Captain. I still think Toronto may be heard from in the Central playoffs, especially with the likes of Rodrigues and Docking, but like the Wings they do not seem to be strong enough behind the blueline. Look for the Hamilton's GAA to go down now that Branco is back...but they might need some extra bodies so that the stars are do not get burned out.

Another super recap, well-researched and put together.

It's tough to comment Kusa...except to say...you have nailed it once again my friend

Oakville Burlington will be a GREAT GAME on Saturday night

Your Raiders seem to be firing on all cylinders....mind you they have fallen behind some weaker teams as of late.....they have been the comeback kids which could further unite them as a "TEAM"

As always, very accurate with supportive reasoning that substantiates your placements! well done Kusa! And NO I'm not just saying that because you're a Raider fan either! Although it is nice to see OUR Raiders consistantly at or near the top of these standings by their own performance and NOT because of some fabricated rankings!

Well done Kusa! If you don't mind could you please drop me a line at thayward@diamondair.com.?
