Derek Mohney stopped 23 shots to record a shutout of Brampton 4-0. Ed Slade's second period goal proved to be the winner.
The Crushers came up with an impressive 8-4 win over Aurora. Jarrod Connolly had the hat trick for Orangeville and Kevin Van Dyk had four assists. Mike Arnold had a goal and four points. Matt Pasztor tallied twice for the Tigers who now trail second place Huntsville by two with five games left.
Carson Hau stopped 43 of 48 shots as the hometown Icehawks repelled the Blues of Bramalea 8-5. Ricky Buehler scored twice for Milton who led 5-3 after just one period.
Dixie won 5-3 in Collingwood. John Girman had a big night for the BeeHives netting three. He also added an assist. Ryan Marcuz had a goal and three assists. Eric Windmuller had three helpers. The Pennsylvania native now leads Dixie in assists with 23.

When was the last time Aurora gave up 8 goals? I just noticed that they not only have a starting goalie who is 20 years old but the back up is also 20. Not many teams have a back-up that old.
Orangeville called up 5 AP's for this game which makes the final outcome even stranger.

I can't remember the last time that the Tigers had 8 goals scored on them, can anyone else remember when?
If you want a more exacting account of what happened in Orangeville last night, go to the Tiger's website, the write up there was done by someone who was at the game. Sounds like their was a total disintegration on defense, which is unusual for Aurora, they are a defense minded team.

Maybe the Crushers were just the better team, as for the call ups they were just more depth added to the roster,I do not see the Tigers that much of a threat, looking back on past Crushers losses against the Tigers this season, the Crushers barely dressed 3 lines due to the huge amount of injuries they have had and still have.Maintaining their spot in the standing show the depth the Crushers have.Look for more call ups to help in the push.

Last nights game in Milton was really two stories in one game. Milton played great for the first 10 minutes of the game and then tried to sit on the lead they built. After the first ten minutes it was the Carson Hau show, the shots on goal don't tell the whole story, as he made many great saves that kept his team in the game, and in my opinion had no chance on at least 3 of the goals he gave up. Carson has been playing very well since coming to Milton, he has kept his team in most of the games he has played, however when you are facing 44 shots per game on average(and most of them good scoring chances)you can only hold off good teams for so long. Since coming to Milton Carson is 3 wins and 3 losses with pretty close to a .900 save percentage. I think that that is pretty good numbers so far on a team that is as defensively challenged as Milton is.
Now that being said, Sunday afternoons game against Huntsville was a combination of tremendous effort and outstanding goaltending. Sundays game shows what this team can do when they put in a 60 minute effort, but again they have to put in that kind of effort every game just to have a chance to win, you can't rely on your goaltender to steel every game for you like he did last night.
I also want to say that given all of the negative things that have gone on in Milton this season (all of which I lay squarely on the shoulders of the ownership) the players that are still here are playing hard and giving their best effort, under what Im sure are very difficult circumstances. All the fans can ask is that you continue to play hard. I personally support your efforts.
