Despite having to cancel the twelfth annual "Skate In The Park At Dark" Brampton due to lagging corporate and junior hockey team sponsorships that we had previously realized, all is going well in the preparation to continue with the skate here in London, Ontario at Storybook Gardens, commencing at 8:00 pm on Saturday February 14th and continuing through the night concluding on Sunday.

We're still anticipating on fulfilling at least one childs dream through the Sunshine Foundation! So far we're nearing $5,000 in received pledges and invite our visitors to continue with our annual tradition by making a donation through the attached link.

This will be a very special evening as our team will participate in a more relaxed capacity than we have throughout the past decade! Our intentions are NOT to have the Brampton event end this way .... far from it!

In fact, if I can continue with my current commitment to losing weight and get to 190 pounds, from a previous high of a spherically challenging 254 pounds, then my personal objective is to skate the entire 1,000 laps of Gage Park one more time before this things over and before I get too old! lol

I want to thank everyone for your warm words of encouragement via e-mail and your continued support for our event! What the skate and "some" peoples/organizations support (or lack thereof) has proven to me, is that there are those who utilize our teams volunteer efforts to promote their own selfish causes!

I'm not going to mudsling on here but if anyone cares to drop me a line via e-mail, I can explain more! No this isn't spilt milk, not the least bit! Just a communication to inform those who will look for an avenue to exploit even a childrens charitable effort to advance themselves.

You/we know who you are and it's a shame that you can't even afford us a reply via e-mail to our invitation to join us again this year! A simple no, we're not in a situation to assist you would have been sufficient, but then knowing "some" of these executives the way we have become accustomed to over the past decade, nothing that they do or don't do should surprise any of us I suppose?

Again thank you to those who have suppported us this year and equally to those who took the time to explain that they couldn't assist us, your compassion is indeed appreciated!

Tony maybe get in touch with Sharpie and see if you can set up a table on Thursday night at the Don Sanderson Cup game in Whitby,im sure fans attending this great night would be more than happy to make donations for your event in London!

Thanks fellas I really appreciate your suggestions, but I'm going to graciously decline your generous offer, only because I wouldn't want our charitable endeavours to interfere with your valiant efforts at the Don Sanderson Cup!

Great idea, wrong place and time! Donation dollars are hard enough to come by as it is right now, you certainly don't need another charitable cause interfering with the heroic efforts that you've put forth!

For as much as we'd appreciate any donation, I won't do it at the expense of someone else's dedicated efforts! You see guys, you're prime examples of EVERYTHING that's right with hockey today! You've offered to potentially splinter your own fundraising efforts to assist somebody else! Truly selfless, truly Canadian, and for that I thank you!

There's an entire network of ditch dwellers associated with minor hockey and this league that could take a page from your "let's help the other guy" attitude that seems to be inbreded in us soft hearted Canadians!

There are those too who only ever think of themselves, for themselves and by themselves! They know whom they are, they certainly don't need to be reminded, and at the end of the day their eventual legacy will be realized!

Our skate in Brampton "WILL" return, and it "WILL" do so with a revitalized new flair!

Thanks again guys and take care!

Thank you to those who continue to support our skate! Had I known three weeks ago that the current wave of sponsorship was going to materialize, I wouldn't have acted so fast on cancelling the Brampton event! Oh well, we live and we learn, I probably had too much on my plate anyway, living down here in London and all!

For any corporate, personal or hockey organizations who would like to contribute to our annual "Skate In The Park At Dark", you may do so through the attached PayPal link! Your name WILL be added to our sponsorship list in the header of our forum, and to our appreciation banners!

Thanks to everyone who has supported us this year!

Just dropped of a total of over $2,200.00 at lunchtime today to the Sunshine Dreams For Kids Foundation office here in London! That's a nice kickstart for our upcoming skate this weekend at Storybook Gardens! If we could surpass the $2,500 or perhaps even $3,000 before the skate even starts, then we'll be well on our way to fulfilling another kids dream!

Way to go everyone and thank you from the bottom of my heart! Any personal/corporate donations can still be made through the attached PayPal link! Please help us, help the kids who never asked for what they have to deal with on a daily basis! Let's see if anyone out there can push us over the $2,500.00 plateau with a $300 donation!
