It would make sense if they started Thursday in Kingston.

Spoke to somebody from the Panthers at the Fury game last night, and there is no schedule set for the series yet. It will be on their website as soon as it's set, I'm sure.

Looking up the scores from the season series with these teams, Kingston won the season series 3 games to 2. You never know what can happen in the playoffs.

Why You Ask?

If anyone was a follower of the Trenton Sting/Quinte West Pack/Trenton Hercs, there are a number of former players on both teams playing in this series.

Think of it an an alumni game.

Kingston is a good team, but...

1) Pickering was known for stepping up their game against heavily favoured opponents this season. They beat Kingston twice (and gave them fits for 40 minutes in Kingston before the Vees woke up in the third), and Lindsay twice (or was it three times?). They also stepped up and took 9 out of their last 10 Don Sanderson Tournament points.

2) Pickering got better as the season went on. For the first half, it seemed certain that Pickering would not make the playoffs at all. Then, by the end of the season, they battled back hard, and at one point overtook Whitby for seventh.

Look, I'm not saying that Pickering will win. It would be folly to make that assertion as a hard and fast prediction.

What I'm saying is, if Kingston takes Pickering lightly, the Panthers MIGHT catch them napping and take the series to game 5, where anything can happen.

No way will the Vees take the Panthers lightly. There is nothing to suggest, during the seaosn series, to suggest that they will.

I'm pretty sure the Vees are expecting to sweep the Panthers with double digit scores. I hope they give Rosen a start in net because if you don't give your back-up a start against the last place team then when do you start him?

Vees in three.

Looks like the upset of the night could be in Peterborough, not Kingston. 4:13 for the Stars to save the game.

No such problem in Kingston.

Deja Vu?

Last year Peterborough was the favourite over Bowmanville and not only were the Stars swept, they only managed to score one goal in the three games.

The Peterborough franchise, in the previous 10 seasons, has won a grand total of 1 (one) playoff round and that was 7 years ago.
