Let's start with the shocker - Whitby 3 Peterborough 2. Kristofer Faric's third period marker wins it for the Fury in game one. Down 2-1 Tylor Law tied things up seven minutes into the third setting up Faric's heroics.
No problem for the Voyageurs at home to Pickering as they romped 7-1. The Panthers led 1-0 after one but that would be it for their scoring. Mike Farrell paced the Vees with a pair of goals and an assist and Shawn Sirman stopped 25 for the win.
Not close in Brampton as the Blades took a two goal lead in the series winning 8-3. Former Cap Tyler Leimbrock led Oakville with three. Kellan Lain had two and the other ex-Capital Chris Muise had a goal and two assists.
In regular season Central competition the Waxers won 4-3 in a shootou over the Dukes in a meeting of the top two teams. As a result of the game Wellington leads by a point and each team has one game remaining. Marc Zanette scored the only goal in the shootout. The Waxers had a one goal lead three times only to have Wellington come back with a goal each time. David Titanic got his eleventh and twelfth of the season for the winners.
The Hurricanes ended their season on a winning note as they bested the Spirit 3-2 in overtime. Chad Sumsion had the winner. It was his 28th. and he led the club in that category.
It took overtime but the Eagles tied their series against the Attack winning 3-2. So far home ice has not been friendly to either club. Oshawa native Matt Lahey got the first two goals of the game for Bowmanville and Mike Markovic was the overtime hero.
