Corey George was all over the ice! Played terrific by the looks of it. Also, i believe that the Otters were robbed of two goals.
Anyone see the leafs game the other night when they said the leafs player pushed off the net and than the puck went in? Whats the difference between that and the goalie pushing the net off?
Not sure if there are different rules but i thin it should have been a goal
Cheers!

"Kusa"
The Tiger's David Blair did not deliberately knock the net off before Corey George shot the puck. Looking at the tape he pushed off the post with his skate unintentionally.
If the referee felt he did it intentionally, then the goal would have counted.
Also if the net came off after the puck was in, the goal would have counted.
In this case the referee felt that Blair knocked the net off unintentionally and not "a la McWhinney".
I assure you knocking nets off their moorings is not David Blair's style.

I think the league needs to re-do the net pegs so they are standardized in all OJHL arenas. They should not come off so easily.... perhaps nets can use the current pegs for minor hockey/kids, or just for fun leagues. For the OJHL, make them a little more secure without sacrificing too much in safety.

However, if you look very closely at the subject goal post, and line up the blue edge line of the grease, you will see the the goal post is definitely a little back of the back blue crease line, when you follow it across to the other post.
You may have to use a magnifying glass, but I think the post is definitely off line in the photo.
And, don't forget one of the referees was right there to the right of the net on the play and obviously in his opinion to, the net was off before the goal went in. Anyway as Craigshaw said, it is a "moot" point.
Once again, great photo.
Good luck tonight against the "Crush".

Hey Craig, where was the referee-in-chief sitting? with Katie? LOL
Hey, the referee-in-chief was at the 6th Tiger/Oakville game last year in Aurora when the ref disallowed our winning goal in the overtime, said it was a high stick. He also didn't think it was a high stick, big deal that and a $1.00 won't buy you a cup of coffee.
What better position to see whether a post is off than behind the net with the puck coming towards you. In front your whole focus is on a post about 2 inches wide. Behind the net your focus is on the whole net, which will totally move as the post moves. It's much easier to see the whole net move indicating a post off it's moorings.

Ref couldnt make up his mind? and in overtime..said it was a highstick, then no highstick? Was he paid off? I would guess that standing behind the net you would clearly see if the net was off or not. A picture is worth a thousand words.
