Why Is It That Recently We've Been Plagued With Some Knucklehead Participants?

Just lately, so it seems that "The Cage" has caught a virus with some of the anonymous "contributions" submitted here! It's a real slap in the face to such valued participants as Fillibuster Ron, aciguy, Wayne Lewis, Estock, Tyler Brown, Kusa, SNC57, Bob-Hopi2041 and countless others that have established a credible foundation to this hockey forum, for as credible hockey forums can be!

For as much as you who know me are aware how opposed I am to any form of censorship, I really need all of your inputs to establish whether "WE" are going to endorse some of this archaic behavior founded on here recently. Not only are these anonymous submissions spineless/cowardly, they're also in direct violation of Network54's guidelines and pose a risk to the future of "OUR" forum!

I believe you should post their IP address, if any of these morons continue to rip the kids in this league. In the end, they are just kids.
Just my opinion,

I have to agree. When you are ripping kids and people like Frank Robinson on this forum you should be banned. You should only rip the people who rip others.

I think that alot of the comments stop during working hours as most of the undesirables are attending school! I have been reading the forum for a few years now and just decided this year to participate. The news that others offer regarding their clubs are for the most part encouraging and informative. We must remember that these young men work very hard to represent their team, local communities and families. As many know, they do read the forum and some of the personal comments made towards a player or even management does have an effect on the team. Discussing personal club and player issues are not for public consumption and should be kept at the coffee shop or chatter amongst friends at the game NOT on an open forum. I applaud the policing being conducted on the forum to protect the integrity of the forum itself.
Best of luck to the remaining teams in their quest for the league title and the RBC.

It's a quandry, Tony.

I kind of lean towards something like this. If a person posts once about a certain player that is not in his/her favour, fine. Any player or his representative should be able to handle that within reason.

But continual lambasting of one player/individual or team should not be permitted. Issue a warning and then bring out the muzzle if it continues.

It will take a litttle monitoring but you'll take out those who will want to be trouble-makers incessantly.

I am with you, Tony. I am not for being too quick to quarantine someone but repeated, over-the-top attacks of someone else you don't need.

Tony

I may not be the guy to give an opinion here since I have been pretty vocal on both Forums, to the point that one of the other Forum members from that little Hamlet called Wellington wanted Wexdog to "turf" me out. Thankfully several well known members including Wexdog & Matty B came to my defence which I appreciated.

I did make a comment about a Stouffville player on Tigerpaws this year which I didn't think was that serious, I simply referred to his "nickname" that our Tiger players called him. After it was pointed out that you do not "berate" players on your Forum, I immediately apologized and that was accepted.

Having said all this, I am in complete agreement with your comments and also of those that have posted on this thread ahead of me.

Keep up the great work.

Having not contributed to this forum since the end of May (during which time on our trip I only bought about a half a dozen newspapers and watched only a few hours of TV- a refreshing change!) I cannot comment on some of the 'newer' posters. However, I will say that I prefer to see 'constructive' rather than 'destructive' criticism, less personal gripes and I would also hope that the poster's comments would be backed up by their physical presence at games in which the subject player(s) took part.

I would personally like to see more representation on this forum from fans of all the teams especially those in the Central or I guess to be correct I should say the CCHL.

There are lots of players and management throughout this League who deserve some positive 'ink' in recognition of their efforts but it is usually the shadier sort (and there are some in any group) who get the attention.

I will say that I feel that Tony has always done an excellent job of moderating this forum- not an enviable or easy task for a busy fellow like himself..and since the Wings will not play the Raiders until the playoffs..or will it be the Blades?..I'll wish him all the best for the upcoming season via this media.

Welcome back, Ron. It's refreshing to see someone back upon whom I can always rely to post insightful, intelligent comments, rather than ridiculous bickering and personal attacks.
