You know there are a lot of people that do not understand this man, I have known Dan for 25 years and yes even I have stood back and watched and said what just happened there, when we see each other we always discuss things that are going on in the league and also players. Anyway back to my point, remember when he was suspended not too long ago, it was for having his players put their jerseys on backwards, he was sick and tired of the players playing for themselves and he was making a point to them, yes a lot of people just heard about it and said this guy is nuts, others heard the truth about it and still did not understand, the BIG thing is the PLAYERS understood and it was from that point on that they got their collective **** together, he was willing to pay the price to get his point across, it worked, the point was play for the name on the front of the jersey, play for the guy beside you, the guy across from you, you ask the majority of his players and even they scratch their heads sometimes but the proof is in the pudding, these guys will go thru the wall for him, whether you agree with his methods or not the players buy in and thats all that counts. Even if they lose in the next round their season has been a success, they were not suppose to be here and yet if you look at the billboaed outside the rink it says Wellington vs Jr.Canadians. People said at the beginning of the year oh he had a gifted Minor Midget Team anyone could have coached that Team, wait untill he gets up here, well guess what he has done it again along with his asst. Mike and the his band of merry players. They believe in each other and no matter what happens from this point on Dan you and your Team should be proud, I know you and I know you are still not satisfied, I know you want it all and there is a good chance you will have it. Good Luck Buddy and to you Mike, oh and Dan leave the Bathrobe at home this time!

Sorry guys, but I can't share your kudos and respect for Cameron.
His antics in the Aurora/Georgetown N/W final in 2005 was a disgrace. Not only did he embarrass his position but also the entire Georgetown organization. During the Tiger series he was tossed at least once and suspended for 1 game, which was in Aurora. He showed up in Aurora under suspension and a little under the weather, if you know what I mean, then proceeded to walk around the Arena with a sign that was not too flattering to the Aurora team and fans, then tried to pick fights with the Tiger fans. I believe that police were called to calm the situation. Aurora lost the series 4-3 and the Raiders moved on to face the SMC Buzzers in the OPJAHL final.
I followed that final and again Cameron's antics did not subside and I believe he was suspended for 1 maybe 2 games in the Buzzer series. St Mikes went on to win the series and the OPJAHL Championship.
Georgetown hosted the Dudley that year and eventually came back and beat the Buzzers to go to the RBC, but were not successful in winning. I think if the Raiders had anyone else coaching that talented team they would have won the OPJAHL and the RBC hands down.
I don't know the man personally but I sure witnessed his unprofessional antics in 2005. Obviously the Georgetown organization weren't too amoured with his actions also, as they fired him right after the RBC.
The sweater incident in Wellington? come on, that wasn't for his players, that was disrespect for the Wellington team and their fans, vintage Cameron.
My opinion only.

I too have known Mr. Cameron for several decades SMC57, and I must tell you that his antics are the reason why he is still coaching at this level of hockey.
It is pointless debating his personal problems on here, of which there are many, but rest assured that what I have witnessed throughout the past quarter century is all smoke and mirrors.
He does enjoy the spotlight we all know that, and will stand firm in HIS convictions that HIS behavior is to alleviate the pressure off of his players so that they can focus on hockey. At least that was HIS rationalization back in 2005.
I can virtually guarantee that if our moderator investigated the origin of this thread he would no doubt confirm that it would have very strong ties to Mr. Camerons entourage of followers.
One other thing that Dan Cameron is? Predictable. This out of the blue effort to clear his name for no reason is just another example of a desperate man taking desperate measures to defend his dysfunction.
There are many coaches with credentials equal to or better than Dan Camerons throughout the hockey world. The difference is that they haven't lost their respect for the game or themselves.
Please Mr. Hayward check the origin of this threads origin and inform us of its author. Do not be surprised the least if the author of this thread is either Dan Camerons' or some pee on in his camp.

Hey has always had a niche for doing everything right and then one thing wrong. He doesn't fit the mold that has been created by $enior levels of hockey and likely never will.
Once upon a time, a jacket and tie was all a good coach needed to move up off the bench in the minors into the big leagues. Now it's the entire persona and a lot of politics. It's corporate BS and DC prefers his own BS when he wants BS. His star has come and gone. He could have been a contender.
I expect that he will be able to make some kind of a living as a Coach for as long as he wants. But his team will ride a bus to success. Take your car Dan, at least it has a decent cd player.

Quite honestly "Stir" your comments were inappropriate and as CSTR had communicated they have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic being discussed. Please refrain from such comments which suggest that individuals are comparable to a "predator". Your comments were not only inappropriate, but they were inaccurately labelling someone with reference to convicted murderers/pedophiles. Please refrain from such comments as they have no substance whatsoever and provide no content value to this forum. I trust that you understand?

lets not forget Dan's antics at Henry Carr back in the 80's that earned him a year suspension for travesty of the game. If you think he wants attention now, you should have seen him back in the day at weston arena.
The reality with Dan is, if he likes you you are ok, if he doesn't he will make life miserable for you as a player. For every player you can produce that respects dan as a coach, I would bet if you ask them what they think of him as a person you would get a different answer, I can name you 10 players who wish they never came in contact with the man.

You guys are sick in the head. Comparing a coach to a drunk driver who's killed your kid or to some of the worst criminal offenders in Canadian history. What the hell do you think you are proving?
This thread, in a nutshell, is exactly the kind of crap that ought to be banned from the boards. Hopefully Tony takes note.
I'm all for defending the players from getting slagged by nameless, faceless trolls on this board, but why is it fair game to go after a coach, especially in this vindictive manner? Why is it because someone decided to post something positive, there are calls into investigating the source of it all? Is it because you don't like the guy?

Funny note on the game in wellington last night.
If you think the jersey's backwards was bad antics, talk to the little kids from wellington wearing their jersey's backwards at the game just loving the atmosphere.
