Who is your playoff MVP so far, from who you have seen and watched?
i could nominate 6 guys , the top 2 lines for the canadiens. They have been amazing for them, Chaison Jackson and Smith have to be the best 2nd line in a long time that anyone has seen.
but i wand to hear from u guys!

Craigshaw45,
You're absolutely right when you state that guys must play as a TEAM first, especially deep into the playoffs.Having said that,do you have any thoughts on how your Otters will fare against superior teams such as the Raiders/Blades or the Dukes? Now, before you start slagging my Raiders again, I believe they spanked your Otters in their only venture to Huntsville this year!

RinxRat,
I think you're correct, but come on,none of the weak Phillips' squads would have won the MacKinnon division; at best the Huntsville team would have finished third behind the Raiders and Blades.

Team needs to take advantage of the earned rest and get ready for the Peterborough or Kingston series, great job Saturday night to come back from a 3 nothing deficit.....you could feel the momentum rising as the game went on, keep up the great team work.......amazing what hard work from everyone does for a team.

I have seen the Wellington Dukes play a couple of games in the playoffs and regular season, and without a doubt, the playoff MVP thus far has been Marc Senecal!

a defence first approach helps the otters be a force. the players are a team on and off the ice and they all work together to win each game. they play for the crest on the front not the name on the back as the saying goes.
huntsville has a great goaltending tandem and probably one of the top defence corps of the league not to mention lots of skill up front for putting pucks in the net.

I would say if the Otters have a weakness it may be size. Their biggest frontline player is Def Dan Pinkney at 6'1". Their "WGW" line of Whitelaw (5'9") George (5'11")and Waddell (5'11") would not be considered big by today's standards, however what they lack in size they certianly make up in ability. By comparison, the Oakville Blades have about 18 players between 6" and 6"6". If the Otters make it to the final, a better match up for them would be Georgetown rather than the Blades, the Blades size could wear down the "WGW" line and minimize their goal production. Stop the "WGW" line and you kill a lot of goals.
Another weakness that shows it's ugly head from time to time, is a discipline one which I know most teams have, however the Otters have been in some dandy "hey rubes" during the year with the Terriers. If McCarthy can keep his charges doing what they do best scoring goals, especially on the PP and can keep them out of the penalty box, then Huntsville will be a force to contend with from here on in.
I like their chances in going a long way this year.

Our first line of George, Waddell & Whitelaw in my opinion is the best in the league.....but, our strong defence is what every team wants and we have that too....Our starting goalie Williams if not the best one of the best in the league. Our young guys get into the games and contribute, new kid Cerelli had a hat trick 2 games ago, they can get into penalty trouble which to me would be their only demise, Tom has done a great job in keeping tempers in tack...When you play the Huntsville Otters you need to keep your head up.....that's for sure!!!

SMC, you are correct, on paper size looks like an issue.........for the Otters..........size is all in the mind and they play way bigger then the Rosters says. They have worked hard all year and I hope they keep up the great work

Sorry, but no way shape our how can i agree with them as the best line. Watching a lot of central and philips divison hockey this year,
O'grady Senecal/brown Franklin - wellington
Smith Chaison Jackson - toronto
Quinn Rodrigues Docking - Toronto
McGrail Pagau Ruberto - hamilton
Potts - Iuorio -Ferguson
micks salmon smyth
in my eyes, were all better lines, and i would trade away WGW in a heartbeat for any of those 3.
Especially the way Jackson Smith Chaison played , a long with the wellington boys.

Something's wrong, all of the lines you mentioned are no longer playing save the Wellington line and I don't think they will be playing much longer since Senecal is leaving the Dukes on March 20th.
Where were the 2 Toronto lines during the Wellington series, sleeping?
The best player on the ice for Toronto in the Wellington series was 16yr old Amestoy.

Rodrigues was definitely battling injuries. Any time he was hit or tried to engage in scrums in the corners he always went to the bench in pain. An injury that was seen and taken advantage of. Cam Yuille gave him a couple a nice body checks early in the game and took Rodrigues out of the game basically

Dangle, sounds like you needed to get out and see some of the other Divisions besides the Central, I'm not saying those guys aren't all good players they are...but....do they work great as a line when it matters, like playoffs...out of your list I will have to go with the Wellington line since they are obviously helping their team move on and the rest didn't. Doesn't mean they didn't play well but didn't make a big enough impact to move their respected teams through to the next round.

Well, for one. Where was the toronto lines against wellington.
Rodrigues got injured in the 1st game and didn't play until game 4.
Smith got injured first game first shift, and had to watch his career end.
now if u look at the chaison Smith Jackson line.
26 pts - 4 power play pts - Chaison 18 GP
23 pts - 4 power play pts - Smith 14 GP
23 pts - 3 power play pts - Jackson 18 GP
they never got to see the powerplay because of the other line of rodrigues docking and quinn.
Try and tell me you dont want that line on your team. They could not be stopped 5 on 5 until that line lost smith and chaison had to play with docking and quinn cuz of rodrigues absence.

I saw this guy quite a bit in the playoffs. The guy is like the Energizer Bunny when he's on the ice. Just for fun, we put the clock on him for one game just to see how much ice time he gets: 31 minutes, 25 seconds.
Plattsburg is getting a great player.
