It looks like FC is running another good Junior A summer league up in Brampton. Lots of teams and a large number of players with OHL and Tier 2 experience. On the other hand the Metro East league run by FR looks real skimpy with only 4 teams and very few players with junior experience.

On the contrary, Frank Robinson intentionally pared down his MEJHL to four teams, in order to increase the quality of competition (last season, each Sunday one team would play twice, so the third game would really be a stinker/rout), as well as to lessen the ice time for the benefit of the referees.
In addition, the MEJHL has increased the services it is offering this year, including midget skates on Monday nights, and a coaching clinic. They also had a tremendous turnout for the pre-tryout skates.
Wherever you got your information, you would be best to go back and tell them they were wrong. You're getting bad information.

Of course. All Jr. aged players are eligible. However, most of the players in the league have tended towards younger players. Overagers who played last year, like Luke Pither and Marcus Carroll, have taken on a more mentoring role this summer.

Oh, and wingfan, don't think I don't see where you were going with your post. Your thinly veiled shot at the Central is very juvenile, and I won't bite.

Maybe Tony could check the IPs for us to see if 7manlineup is none other than the weasel (FC) or maybe it is his equally slimmy cousin the Poison Dwarf (VC)?

this is my sons 2nd year in MEJHL and not only has he enjoyed it but the summer skates have helped him improve and stay ready for the season. I've enjoyed the skates thus far and the competition has been excellent. I didnt really notice that the skaters were a younger crowd but then again my boy is a year older.
Back on topic the skates are well run. kids are treated excellent. and the positive affects on the kids seems to be across the board. I think its well worth the money and would recommend this summer league to anyone looking for a competitive game action type of summer skates.
sharpie one day i will have to come over and say hello. i was going to at the sanderson cup final but after the beating we took i just went home while you enjoyed a celebration im sure

"On the contrary, Frank Robinson intentionally pared down his MEJHL to four teams"
Frank wants to make money here. If he had the interest he'd have 20 teams. Who's kidding who. There wasn't enough interest in the league. In fact its the same people returning with the same teams. No new blood.

For those who did not know, all of those capitalized "S" represent $ signs. As in, maybe the word is finally getting out there about Carnival"$" ca"$"h cow and his little Poi"$"on Dwarf "$"idekick cou"$"in, do ya think? lol

No doubt Frank Carnavale and Victor Curloso(not sure of the spelling) have reputations that are tarnished by many in the hockey community. One thing is for sure though, Franks summer program up at Brampton Poweraid is a huge moneymaker and the players and parents love the competition. The only two things bugging everybody is the increases each year in cost and the points the refs give Carnavale's son in league play when in fact other players are getting the points. Oh well, what else is new?
Metro East is in its infancy, yet Frank Robinson has to do a better job marketing this league. If his goal is to keep it small and exclusive then this league will eventually die out. Players will get bored playing against the same players with only 4 teams. Being familiar with both leagues the Carnavale league(even though I have no respect for Carnavale) is a much more competitive league.

Frank had a waiting list for the MEJHL this summer, but did not have enough for six full teams. Last season, with five teams, one team had to play twice each week. The third game was always one-sided, plus the refs did not like doing three games in a night. So Frank decided to keep it at four teams.
Regardless of your beliefs, Frank is not in this to make a huge profit. The MEJHL has offered a lot more features this summer, as well, including coaching programs and midget skates that are furthering the league for future seasons. No worries about this league going under.

Looking at the early goings in the Metro East loop, there is only one real team-Gongers-that seems to be dominating early on. Frank R should even out the teams to make it more competitive. Joe Cornacchia's team seems to be the weakest.

So how is Frankies Cash Grab going this year? Just out of curiosity, are the cheques made payable to Frankies Carnival (queu the circus music and the poison dwarf vic on his unicycle, lol), his league or care of Welfare Canada? Just wondering that is all. lol
