Well we will see how the Owners son can play in this one against the Attack prospects,he better shine big time,or the Attack will have a very long season without Jenkins between the pipes for sure!

Yes you could be wright about Stein in this one,but it will be interesting to see what he brings to this exibition game being a starter for Ajax this season.

I was only telling all on here about an exibition game on the 29th of June, not trying to get input of putting a player down in respect of his play as you are all doing on this post, please be kind to all of these players wanting to make the final roster of the Ajax Attack,it could be very cruel to someone that has talent but not at the junior level as of yet!

trouble with these games is that the prospects are playing full out for a spot against vets that are not in shape and are going t 80% . too much risk of injury to a key vet for no reason..hope it doesn't happen. what ever happened to getting away from the game for a few months and being hungry for hockey when it matters. too much is too much!!!!

Actually, the Attack vets have been doing a great job of staying in shape this off season, having been getting together regularly for skates and scrimmages. Shouldn't be a problem to lace 'em up for a game with the prospects.

From what someone told me they have signed one player, you would think that they would of signed more than that as their rookie camp had some very good talent at it!

The fact is, when I was at the rookie camp, I heard there are not a whole lot of spots available. Three or four spots, and that's it, from what I heard. They got a very good look at a lot of prospects and a number of them will become AP's and get a much better look next year.

So in essence these rookies are used as cannon fodder for the vets, strung along and discarded at the end. Sharpie, you and I know that the Ap card is useless. The most an Ap will see is 1-3 games. Most Ap's won't even see a game so this card is a waste of time. Just look at the Attack A'ps games last year, hardly any played.
Durant has his favourites-his core group-and this core group wants lots of ice, so for any rookies out there forget the promise of the Ap card.....your wasting your time.

Sounds like somebody's son had an AP card last year, and wasn't used. Seriously, rippedskates, you sound more and more like sour grapes every time you post.

thats what an ap is supposed to do. go up to fill a spot due to injuries or sickness etc. they are not ready for the junior a level and will develop better in midget. just like getting called up from aa to aaa. or in the bigs..from the ahl to the nhl..thats the way the system works...

Just to add, most coaches and gms know the Ap card is a waste and only use it for possible future recruiting. In the Attacks case they brought in players from other teams thru cash or trade while all the while not using their Aps. And no Sharpie I did not have a kid that was an Ap. Sharpie, you must stop changing teams and selling yourself to the highest bidder, otherwise we will have to start a JR A franchise on Church Street, not the Church in Ajax, but the Church Street in Toronto.

Rippedskate, your wrong on the Attack not bringing up AP players last season they had a few of them even road games aswell, and also the Attack is not the only team that has made trades for cash or 1 for 1 straight up every team does this, seems everyone likes to center out Ajax and not other clubs!

Yes Junior27 all teams do this in trades and there was AP players playing in games for Ajax last season, and news is they have signed 3 players as of rookie camp and 2 were AP players last season!!

I always thought players should earn their right to making a team by playing in some ex games vs other teams while at main camp. This is too early to sign unproven players. I also hear some of the players signed have dads who are buddies with the coaches. Don't know if its true but its what I hear.

Bannister & Barkley are very good players coming into the Jr level this year, they have payed their dues as AP players last season, and played very well as AP players with the Attack, they will add much scoreing power with the club of Ajax this season.
So as you say unproven talent in junior.....i say not!!!!!

Just checked the Ajax stats on some of the aps from this past season
Jake APM, Bannister F 4 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0
Barclay APM, Kris F 3 0 0 0 6 0 0 0 0 0
Bannister had 1 assist in 4 games while barkley had 6 min in penalties in 3 games. I would say this is unproven. They might do well but i would have liked to see them go through a full camp. My other concern is in the very few games they played they did not get a lot of ice. The talk of friendships between the coaches and players dads might be true.

Forget the stats on these two players they are very good seen them play last season,as for the Management and Coaches having favorites on the club,i would think this is only hear say nothing more,as all clubs in this Junior A loop gets accused off agree!
