Well here's the lastest update on former Raider executive Peter Mavroudis. This isn't itended to resurrect old news, but more importantly to report his most recent return to court while already incarcerated. For those of you who do not have access to the Georgetown Independent newspaper, here's the story of his most recent court appearance from two days ago (Tuesday).
The part that dumbfounds me more than anything is the statement which states: "Mavroudis, the former director of hockey operations for the Georgetown Jr. A Raiders, sobbed in the prisoners box after Ontario Court Justice Peter Bourque remarked on letters of support from the minor hockey community" ...... and this my friends is the insanity in all of this!
"letters of support from the minor hockey community" ........ are these people insane or brainwashed to endorse such criminally deviant behavior? By "supporting" such antics is to endorse it! What about his "G" damn victims? What about the young players and families who entrust their lives with such an obvious repeat offender?
If it's true what they say: "that we are a product of ourselves" then NO bloody wonder that this game is in such a mess!!!! And where I might add does the OHA and Hockey Canada stand in all of this? Is/was Peter Mavroudis a carded member of the OHA/Georgetown Raiders and Hockey Canada?
If not, then why not? And if he was then why weren't ALL of his minor hockey priveledges removed knowing full well of his troubled criminal past?
And then we all wonder why this great game of ours is in such a "G" damn mess!!!!! And as many of you know this is only the very tip of the iceberg as well!!! Characters such as DF, RG, FC, VC, and so on and so on certainly don't add ANY amount of credibility to our game!!!
