In ex games listed and reported . Ont L 12 pts
. Central 12 pts.
Dont draw any ulterior motives as I not attached to either group but
I wondered if there was an edge. I think it proves only if you have talent
on your team then there wont be much differece from any other like team.
Its an over simplication but Luke Schenn played very successfully
against older opponents.

And not only that the Ontario has not played the best of the "C' go figure that out, look at Newmarket taking out in "X"games Aurora in two home and home matchups,Central is not looking to bad against the BIG "O" so far!

Actually I know there are games missing IE Stouffville losing to the Tigers
twice so it cut both ways. Thats why its based on those games reported only.

It is, of course, ludicrous to try and compare league strengths using results from pre-season exhibition play. Even now, as the regular season approaches, teams are still sitting vets (some still at OHL camps but likely to return) and playing 93s, 92s and other free agents who are trying to crack the team. Some are solid players, others are simply not.

I understand there is some sort of need out there by certain dominant posters on both sides of the fence to try and elevate the worth of one league and lower the other, but in reality, regardless of league directives and philosophy, if a team is stacked with very good hockey players (regardless of age) and are well coached and disciplined, they WILL do well. Period.

Good luck to all players in both leagues. See you at the end of the playoffs. happy.gif

""It is, of course, ludicrous to try and compare league strengths using results from pre-season exhibition ""
No its not because the conditions that you describe apply to both leagues.
A sampling of 12 games is large enough to draw a conclusion that
the leagues are relatively equal.
If one league is likely to endow more of the conditions you describe
please provide your insght.

'...the conditions that you describe apply to both leagues'

Sometimes true, often incorrect.
Typically, in exhibition season, one team is dressing a larger number of returning or signed players than the other. The results are then skewed. Without knowing what the final rosters will be you cannot really tell what the real composition of a team will be and as such then, how they will compete in regular season game action.
Drawing any conclusions from pre-season play may be fun (to sap the boredom until the real season arrives), but is essentially futile.

So please advise which teams in which leagues will skew the sample?
