(Toronto, ON) - The Central Canadian Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce that the Cable 14 Partnership (Cogeco, Mountain Cable and Source Cable Ltd) will be carrying tape-delayed broadcasts of Hamilton Red Wings and Burlington Cougars games starting with the season opener between the two teams on Friday September 11, 2009.

Cable 14 will initially be covering games between the Cougars and Red Wings on a roughly once-a-month basis, but are in the process of adding a second mobile crew which will then cover addition CCHL action from Hamilton.

The newly established CCHL will begin regular season play on September 9th 2009. The twenty one (21) team league includes eight teams who were participants in the OHA sponsored Central Division pilot project (Cobourg Cougars, Hamilton Red Wings, Markham Waxers, Newmarket Hurricanes, St. Michaels Buzzers, Stouffville Spirit, Toronto Junior Canadiens and the Wellington Dukes) along with thirteen additional entrants from across the OJHL -Seguin Bruins, Orangeville Crushers, Lindsay Muskies, Peterborough Stars, Bowmanville Eagles, Burlington Cougars, Whitby Fury, Streetsville Derbys, Ajax Attack, Dixie Beehives, Pickering Panthers, North York Rangers, and the Upper Canada Hockey Club. The CCHL emphasizes rigorous operating standards and an increased commitment to developing young hockey players for the Ontario Hockey League, Canadian Interuniversity Sport, National Collegiate Athletic Association and other higher levels within the sport in Canada and abroad.
