Question For Pointstreak Operators

I notice this year that stats are being done for plus/minus as well as individual players shots on goal.

Is there someone else in the arena keeping track of these stats and passing them on to you or are you supposed to keep track yourself?

Thanking you in advance.

The shots per player feature isn't supposed to be activated. That will disappear this year as it is far too cumbersome for tracking at this time.

However the tracking of plus/minus for the CCHL is on this year. We recommend that each team's statistician (or desginate) track the players on the ice for the goals and then submit that stat to the Pointstreak operator during the intermissions and for the final periods of play, immediately post-game before closing the game off.

That is the plan, to have someone in the stands. However, last night with the internet connection being as bad as it was all night, I ended up just asking the coaches after the game. Almost all coaches keep track of it for their own notes throughout the game anyway. In future games, though, we will have someone in the crowd keeping track and doing it between periods.

As CCHL said, the shots by player feature is difficult to track. Even the NHL relies more on video for keeping track of shots than anything else, because it is often hard to see from ANY angle who actually got the shot, deflections, etc. And yet, every time I click to add a shot, the player number feature pops up, which is kind of annoying and I hope that CCHL is right and this feature is deactivated.

Also wondering:
The Mississauga-Bramalea gamesheet provides no scoring details, penalties, nothing. Just a score.

But I feel it comin........................What are we going to do about the fantom points this year? Is Baker going to reach the 100 goal 100 assists 100 hits plateau this year? Ripper will eat a puck at centre ice when these milestones are reached.........I think I might have to........with this league.

Well call me crazy, but yesterday as I was taking a look at the stats of the Streetsville game, I noticed no points for Baker after 2 periods & his teams 2 goals. I even looked to see if he was on the roster for this game. Yup he was there.

Then today, I noticed he was in on the 1st assist.

I could have sworn he wasn't awarded the assist prior to the end of the 2nd period. Of course I could be wrong & some how missed his name when I was looking for it (don't think so though). Or maybe he really did deserve the assist & it was a proper correction.

Kinda makes me go hmmmmmmmm.

One problem I have with the Pointstreak +/- stat input is that it will not allow us to finalize a game sheet without input of the players on the ice for PP goals. In order for this to be a true stat, PS should not be counting PP goals into it.

i think thats because its showing "players on ice" on the printable gamesheet but they are not being charged or credited a +/- stat for that. looks like ps is calculating that automatically.

just checked and the nhl does that too...players are recorded as being on the ice but not dinged. they also record the goaltender as being on the ice..
