The Red Wings subdued the Rangers this afternoon in North York by a score of 5-1. Evan Haney scored the only goal of the first period and then the Wings added another in the second with Daniel Leavens registering his first marker of the season. They would score three times more in the final frame with Andrew Rajenovic tallying in his second game in a Wing uniform, blueliner Rob McFarlane registering his first on a powerplay and Zack Hyman added an unassisted score whilst playing shorthanded in the closing seconds of the game.

Jeff Sincalir's hopes of a shutout were spoiled when Geoff Bezruchko scored for the Rangers with under four minutes left. He stopped 28 Ranger shots in the game. The teams were a combined 1 for 23 on the powerplay.

The Red Wings now look to climb to .500 for the season...the home game win last Monday against Seguin 3-1 is still not in Pointstreak...as they entertain the Orangeville at the Dave on Monday night. The Crushers have won their first three games and are coached by ex-NHLer Dale Hawerchuk.
