Like people are far too eager to post unconfirmed rumour, innuendo, and hearsay on these forums. It is the same as the St. Mike's thread, that got way out of hand for a rumour that still has yet to be confirmed.
If this is true about Dixie, provide some hard evidence. Don't make the statement unless you are willing and able to back it up with evidence. Same with the St. Mike's thread. There is absolutely no evidence presented in either thread to support any claims of wrongdoing.

Is it still a rumour if parents from all walks of life in all manner of arenas from different occupational backgrounds and of different ages state the same? At what point will you believe rumour is true?

Remember when Gumbley owned the Bramalea team? I believe he charged players $6000 to play on that team. That is when the OHA made the rule that teams could not charge players to play.
Of course we all know Gumbley is connected to Vic & Vic was connected to that Bramalea team & he coached their affiliate team.
So who was Vic going to be an coach with this year? Dixie.
I didn't know Gumbley had so many disciples. Well Furlane & Gialedakis character has never been what one would call pristine. Whether they are intertwined or connected or not, all the above are still cut from the same cloth.

It is straight from the mouth of a player in questions parent. It's time this stuff stopped happening altogether. The owner's son is a Minor Midget AA player who moved up to Junior A. The OHA has allowed this to go on far too long.

Then that parent should speak with the OHA and CCHL to determine if this is allowable under their rules. Only at that point will you have an answer to your question.

Why would a kid be blackballed for asking if this is normal procedure for the OHA and/or the CCHL?
I suspect most if not all other clubs do not charge AP players for the priviledge of being an AP player.
However if the answer is yes then they know it doesn't matter where they go it will be 2G's.
Can't see how asking the question is a problem.
Maybe Sharpie can answer it for you. In your experience in Markham, Whitby and Ajax (all CCHL teams) have AP's ever been asked to pay any money let alone $2000?

"Maybe Sharpie can answer it for you. In your experience in Markham, Whitby and Ajax (all CCHL teams) have AP's ever been asked to pay any money let alone $2000?"
Without specifically commenting on the rumours being thrown around about any specific franchise, and solely for the purposes of answering this direct question...
No, in my experience with Ajax, Whitby, Markham, and Pickering, never have I heard of a fee being charged to players once they made the team, either as a carded player or as an AP. Rookie Camps, Training camps, yes I have heard of fees being charged to help defray the costs of the camp, but never have I heard of a player being charged if selected to play for the team.
Having said that, I don't really stick my nose in or dig around the business end of the teams I work for. As I have said many times, I leave that to the hockey people. And I have not heard anything other than what is on these forums about either situation. Over the years, I have often heard things fly around the rinks about other teams (paying players, shady "future considerations" deals, stuff like that) but have not heard anything about this Dixie situation or the so-called development fees allegedly being charged by St. Mike's, for what that is worth.

that parent just wants his kid to have an opportunity to play at the highest level possible. so while miffed about dropping the $2K, he doesn't want to rock the boat either.
although you're right about contacting the league and if not satisfied, then the OHA.
any new venture will go thru growning pains, and while i do like many of the ideas put forward by the new league, it is patently clear there's some issues/baggage here. the Upper Canada changes were not transparent and the problems with Dixie and possibly St. Mike's are not very reassuring.
if anyone knows how they're being handled, please share ... otherwise that old who tune comes to mind: "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

Maybe if there are new owners (or owner group) with Upper Canada they don't want people to know who they are. There are a number of players on the roster whose parents have been known for their nepotism in both Junior & minor hockey.
More than a handful.

I love these idiots who jump on the websites and whine. If you do not like what a team is doing go somewhere else . Plain and simple . Get a life .
Just because your little Johnny is going no where do not blame others . What St. Mikes , Dixe do really in end is NONE of your business. If you do not like stay the hell away from the teams .
St Mikes does not have answer to some dimwits on a blog and Dixie is for once cleaned up you dummys .
If you think for a minute that teams do not fundraise to help teams who are trying to help kids advance you are one big idiot.
As far as owners kids on teams etc. who gives a flying ......$####@%%
Put your money up and buy a TEAM and help kids or shut the #$%#$@@ up
Talk is cheap but its always the same whiners . LOL

what do you get for the $2000 ? are you guaranteed to dress for any number of games?some parents just don't get it even when thay are being hit over the head. paying to sign an AP card is just stupid.

BUY A TEAM????
FROM WHAT I HEAR YOUR SO CALLED PURCHASE OF THIS TEAM HAS NEVER BEEN APPROVED BY THE LEAGUE AS THE MESS NEEDS TO BE CLEANED UP BEFORE THE LEAGUE WILL ADDRESS THIS.
HAVE YOU PAID THE SPORTING GOODS STORE FOR THE EQUIPTMENT THAT WAS NEVER PAID FOR BY THE DIXIE BEEHIVES?? ETC ETC??
SURELY YOU DIDNT PAY FOR THE TEAM KNOWING YOU COULDN'T GET TITLE TO IT? NO ONE WOULD BE THAT STUPID?
YOU HAVE THE BEST DEAL GOING..
ALSO IF YOU HAVE CLEANED THIS UP WHY DONT YOU EXPLAIN JUST WHAT YOU HAVE CLEANED UP SO THE FANS AND POTENTIAL PLAYERS CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT WHAT WAS ONCE A STORIED FRANCHISE
WE ALL WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE TEAM DO WELL.

Hey Pow wow (GF)
Still remember you from your Predator days (hmm...money issues during that stint as well)
Bought your families way onto another team and even took your buddy BT with you.
Great to see that you still respond to every negative post, some things never change, kind of like the 93 forum you trolled.
