why are those games not counted in the standings?

As was announced when we added Bowmanville to the tournament, the schedule was weighted so that Bowmanville and Whitby were playing each other six times, while playing Ajax and Pickering four times each. Similarly, Ajax and Pickering were scheduled to play each other six times. So, to even the schedule, it was decided and announced that the first home-and-home games in each of the Pickering-Ajax series and the Bowmanville-Whitby series would not count in the standings in order to take the extra two games in each set out of the equation.

Just noticed now a typo in the standings.

Whitby should read 2 pts., not 4.
