If you have a chance today shake the hand of a World War II veteran, there are less and less among us with each passing year, and thank him for what he did so that we are able to do what we do now in peace and freedom.

I often reflect on what other people gave in order that we could be afforded the lives we live today Ron. I have in my possession my Grandads three war medallions which are proudly displayed at home for his efforts during WWII.

My dad actually has a framed map of Birmingham, England (where I was born) and the targeting of one of Englands' major industrial hubs during the second World War! Hell you can barely decipher any of the city's landmarks from all of the direct hits that Birmingham experienced!

Dad can actually remember being shuffled of as a four year old to the cellar to escape the bombarding and debris! Let us NEVER forget!

Moving up, because I agree, we should never forget the great sacrifices made to keep Canada strong and free!
