I see this was captured under another heading but thought it should be titled as such. I hope some of the stars fans will still be interested but I have my doubts. Not a whole lot of talent left on the stars to improve Muskies but will push any peterborough talent and student players lindsay way. Perhaps their budget will increase with adding Cathcart to the current mix including new owner ron tugnutt. Muskies should be a better team and they should be able to attract players as their school options have now widened for prospective players.

Twenty three teams for next season..perhaps three Divisions instead of four..my choice would be two 'eights' and a 'seven' with the top four from each advancing to the playoffs then a round robin of the remaining three..but could there be more mergers coming?..haven't heard anything of late on Georgetown and the Junior Canadiens..how long can the Rangers survive?..and what's happening in Mississauga?..could the Junior Sabres find sufficient competition in their State?..just some food for thought..

Wow! 23 teams, down from 36 just a couple of years ago! Illustrates just how OVER populated this league once was huh Ron? Perhaps that THIS is the number that the league should hve been at ALL along to avoid the watered down product with the departure of the fiinal wave of baby boomers offspring. But then greed and control knows NO boundaries!

How long have WE/I been pounding on this drum for Ron? If a business could NOT project that they were operating their organization with a 36% rate of ineffiency, then hell they'd be out of business in very short order! My question is how was this able to go on as long as it did? When the league consists of 64% of the teams it had up until recently, something was/is has been seriously wrong for a very long time!

I suppose individuals/private money to live their lives through their kids had something to do with it because most of these kids wouldn't have anywhere to play if it wasn't for the wreckless, drunken sailor spending of their old man! happy.gif

Yonge street huh?

As usual, Toronto's main street is the centre of the universe isn't it? The OJHL is another to have bought into the premise. wink.gif

Wayne, do you know that Yonge Street (Highway #11) is listed in the Guinnes Book Of Records as the longest street in the world?

It is listed at 1,896 KM or 1,178 MI long.

Muskies--Very much improved for 2012-13

Heard in town that Donohoe and Hubers were/are "on loan" trades and will return to the Muskies at seasons end and that goalie Tanner Davis who was traded/loaned to the Muskies will remain with the club. All were involved in trades that would have had them return to the Stars at seasons end. With the additions of these few very good players and a few new additions if the Muskies can do it, they may be a much improved team for 2012-13. Get out and support them...they are supposedly going to post a spring camp date very soon likely in May.

I believe the deal to bring Donohoe to Wellington completed the deal that sent Cole Murdoffs rights to the stars...even if that was a "wink-wink" deal, it was made with a GM that that doesn't have control of the team anymore....
