I just want to make sure I am doing these stretches correctly and not doing damage. I can stretch myself similar to the way shown in the photograph
on this forum, but Ive read here that when more progress is made, the best thing to do is put 2 fingers inside and pull them apart to pull the tight "ring." Can I clarify this technique a bit?
This tight ring, I am assuming is the "opening" of the penis which has to allow the glans out, right? When I pull my foreskin apart, I am pulling it by the SKIN, and while this has made the skin looser and allowed me to retract fully without a problem when flacid, I get the impression that this is not actually doing anything to the ring, or circular opening, whatever you want to call it... for instance, if I put my 2 thumbs or 2 fingers in and pull apart, it is definatly the skin that is stretching, but if I look down the actual opening is sort of inside, and not being stretched. Does that make sense? Im sure its stretching a bit, but I get the impression that Im stretching skin and not doing much to the opening. I just dont want to end up with loose baggy foreskin and no improvement to the opening. Hope that makes sense, its a bit hard to explain. I can try and provide photographs if that would help.
You must be doing something right because you're getting results. However, you really need to concentrate on that little ring. Try to get those finger tips inside the foreskin so that you can feel the ring, and then pull it apart gently.
You are quite right - you need, as Jim says, to get a couple of fingers inside (just read the previous two or three posts where this is mentioned) and stretch the tight "ring".
Unfortunately, we can't actually find a picture of someone doing this on the net, to refer or "link" to (and we are not going to start searching through porn sites to find it either!).

Today I attempted retraction while erect... I can get it a good way down but I tend to lose my nerve a bit because at its widest point, it pinches a bit. So I'm sure I could retract it the whole way, Id be scared about getting it back over the top, its quite difficult to get it back over the widest point beacuse the glans swell up quite a bit.
One technique I tried was to fully retract when not erect, then gain an erection. When this happens, the glans does seem disproportionatly large or swollen compared with the rest of my penis (maybe the bloods staying there insted of flowing to the rest) and this freaks me out a bit, so I force the foreskin forward in case I'm gonna get "stuck" for a while. But the fact that I can retract beyond the glans at all (erect or not) is more than I had ever expected. I'm sure with a few months of stretching I'll get it figured out. Is the method described above a good way to attempt full retraction when erect, or not?
Just keep doing the stretching as recommended rather than worrying about doing it erect for now. That will follow quite nicely when you have the opening big enough. Although the risk of getting anything stuck is next to nothing for someone your age, why put yourself through it all? During the day, when peeing, take some time to tug at the skin a few times. This, combined with morning and evening stretches will have you in good shape in a matter of another month or two at most.
