confused...help please

I am 15 years old, i just found out that the foreskin is supposed to retract down over the head. I guess i didnt see the difference between circumcision and retracted foreskin before.I always thought the excess skin when flacid was actually the foreskin, talk about being messed up.I have always been a bit self concious over my penis. It is not very tight, and i started stretching it a bit. I havent been long starting to go through puberty. I was reading on another site and sounded like it was discouraging retracting the foreskin in young males who havent went through puberty yet(not sure if this only applies to young children), and that it would damage tissues on the glands. So....I am wondering whether i should leave it and it will 'happen on its own'. Or if i have mild phimosis and should begin to strech it. I am pretty sure i can get it down past the head when flaccid although i havent done it yet.

So basically i am worried about damage to the penis, wondering if i should be stretching it and/or try to retract it.

If I havent explained myself well enough, I will try to futher explain it.

And one last question should the foreskin naturally retract over the head during an erection on its own or does it require a push with everybody. Sorry about all the questions. :p

Thanks in advance

Questions are good

If your foreskin is loose enough to wiggle around as you massage it, all of the attachments to the glans should be free by now. Therefore, stretching should cause no problems or pain.

It is better that you start trying to retract now rather than letting it work itself out. Some don't work out.

Are you able to retract it at all? How far?

Some guys have automatic retraction with erections and other don't. The size of the glans in relationship to the shaft is a big factor.

Are you American?

Not a big problem

Your situation should be resolvable in about two months, providing you are diligent.

Here's what to do. Each and every time you pee, afterwards, pull the foreskin back as far as it will go. Then take hold of the bottom of the skin and pull it forward and far as you can. See #4 picture.

If you cannot get two fingers inside the pocket of the skin, use #3 picture as a guide for stretching. If you can get two fingers inside, put them in back to back and gently pull the opening apart. Hold the stretch for a few minutes, and do it two to three times per day every day.

I predict that you'll see a big difference within two weeks. During the first week, if you do everything, you'll see the skin loosen up considerably. If your penis becomes erect during the process, do the exercise anyway. In the event the skin retracts totally over the rim, don't panic. Just squeeze the head and gently, but firmly coax the skin back to its normal place. In that case, lubrication might help. Even spit works.

When you are able to retract fully, you'll need to continue stretching for another month while the skin cells multiply and create new tissue.

Please report back with progress and any concerns. If anything hurts, back off and assess the situation. This should be a pleasant experience.

The damage "industry".

Nice to see you here, Billybob.

There's something you should know.

Not everybody "out there" in real life, or on the Internet, has your best interests at heart. Many people are only interested in their own enjoyment, or profit. Even if they are otherwise "nice" people, many have to keep themselves happy by making themselves think that they are "in control" and "on top" of their environment.

Unfortunately, through our "modern" culture, there runs a "mean streak" just as there used to be slavery a couple of hundred years back. In this case, it is - a primitive, savage ritual called circumcision! It is in fact, part of the Jewish religion which is well and good if that is your belief, but even God said some 2000 years ago that "that was enough", and people should have "moved on" and become modern as He explained to them.

But - people are still doing it, and if you come to the point of realising that your parents did this to you (you are lucky - yours didn't) because they were acting like some primitive tribal people, it can be a bit hard to stomach, and you may well tend to cling to some fantasy and tell yourself it's somehow "good for you" - it's "healthier" or such.

Now, when such people start talking - writing - about something with which they are not personally familiar - such as how to look after the foreskin if you are not circumcised - we refer to that as "intact" rather than the silly word "uncircumcised", to remind people that this is the way things are supposed to be - then they invent and pass on all sorts of mythology (you know about "Urban Myths?") which tell of "bad" things about being intact.

One of these, is this "it's easily damaged if you try to stretch it - so you can't stretch it" story. It's an offshoot of the "you mustn't touch your penis" story which people tell to explain to themselves that children shouldn't know what sexual pleasure is until they are "grown up" (whenever that is) even though unless they are really abused, they know only too well that they themselves were sexual from quite a young age. Well, of course, if you believe that, then you can convince yourself that it's a good idea to cut off part of the penis to "make it easier to clean" - that is, you don't have to touch it and find out it is sexual (girls don't have it, so they have no excuse at all for touching themselves).

Pardon me if this is a rather long explanation, but I thought that your "another site and sounded like it was discouraging retracting the foreskin in young males who haven't went through puberty yet (not sure if this only applies to young children), and that it would damage tissues on the glans" deserved an explanation of just why it is so misleading. Is this useful?

My foreskin is the opposite!

September 20 2007, 3:57 PM

I am uncircumsised, but my foreskin ALWAYS rolls down, even when flaccid!

I pull it up, and it rolls right back down again, how do I fix this?

Email me with an answer, I really want to know!

Which way is down?

Do you mean it rolls to cover the head?
