No Circumcision for Me, Thank You

Hi, I was wondering if you gents could help me diagnosing my own penis problem. First, the background info: I am 19 years old and I can stretch my foreskin over the head of my penis when flaccid, but not when erect. I went to a urologist two days ago and he recommended circumcision immediately and nothing else. I would prefer to not go that route, though I will if I truly need to. However, while researching what my problem might be I found a description of Frenulum Breve and it sounds more akin to what I have. When erect and trying to pull my foreskin down, it is stopped by my frenulum, which is stretched tight. It doesn't particularly hurt, but it is definitely annoying. I suspect I don't have phimosis because the foreskin itself isn't tight around the head and slides down easily until it is stopped by the frenulum. So what do you think it is, Frenulum Breve or Phimosis?

Thank you.

Perhaps both

Would the foreskin slip over the corona, the edge of the glans? If not, I suggest that you work on both areas, but concentrate on the frenulum.

Stay away from that doctor. His Porsche payment is due!

It matters less than you may think.

Please read back through a lot of the threads here, to get an idea of the situation.

As Jim points out, it is most likely that you have a bit of both, and are best advised to perform the principal stretching procedures we suggest for each problem, at the same time, in order to sort out the problem.

Actually, you can get some idea of whether you have the dread "frænulum breve" by observing just how far you can retract whilst flaccid. If you can retract so that the tight part of the foreskin causes a narrow "neck" some distance behind the glans, then you do not have "frænulum breve". If you do have it, it will cause the retracted foreskin to bunch up tightly, immediately behind the glans (corona) and attempting to pull it back further will bend the glans down sharply. If you did not have a tight foreskin ("phimosis") as well, then you would already be able to retract it this far when erect.

Just by way of context, and not to say you should not proceed to stretch your foreskin and frænulum, but I must ask you just what the "problem" is with this phimosis, and why is it so severe that you would ever consider having well over half (more usually, two thirds) of the skin cut off your penis?

Unfortunately the plain fact is that a urologist is primarily a surgeon who does indeed, make most of his money from cutting pieces from people. By going to one in the first place, you are more-or-less stating that is what you wish!
