I have to suspect - as someone else or in fact, a
few people

here have astutely observed - that if things are not happening, it is because you are not really doing
either stretch particularly enthusiastically.
And "enthusiastically" particularly means
regularly - a few times
each and every day. We
know how this works (or in fact,
fails to work

) - it was pointed out in no uncertain terms in a lecture I attended a couple of days ago (and the food was good too!), that when an important medication (to reduce blood pressure and/ or cholesterol) is prescribed by a doctor; one that
needs to be taken essentially for the rest of a lifetime in order to perform its task and provide continued protection to the heart etc.; that in fact only about
half of patients are still taking it after the first year or so. And that,
even if they are telling the doctor that they are taking it, and coming back at approximately the correct times to collect repeat prescriptions and such.
It is quite remarkable to what extent people can convince
themselves that they are "following the instructions" accurately.
The point is: It (stretching) works
if you do it and
to the extent that you do it. There is no "limit" at which it will "fade out" or suddenly cease being effective, either at the beginning
or later in the process. If it stops working (granted that I mean
stops, and not to be confused with temporary slow-downs) and
unless some other problem such as infection has occurred - which should be relatively self-evident - it is no more or less than the result of becoming less determined and regular with the process.
Yes, of
course it can be boring to keep doing the stretching. But if you are half-hearted about it, you are only making the process longer and causing your own disappointment. And of course there may be some temptation to "try something different" such as retracting, because that seems to more closely resemble what you wish the end result to be, but we doggedly stick to the particular advice of two specific manoeuvres because as far as we can see, they are the ones offering the greatest "bang for the buck" - in fact, the simplest and easiest way of applying the maximum force for the longest time practical, to the two specific areas which require to be stretched.
And when I mentioned above medications needing to be taken essentially for the rest of a lifetime, that is very different from the situation of stretching. Notwithstanding some deliberately misleading information promulgated on circumcision "fetish" sites,
once you achieve your stretching "target",
and give it a little "over-kill" by continuing for a couple of months
beyond that target point, you will
not need to worry about it any further.
But - you have to get there first.
