Tell us more

Well Bob, I can't tell you anything until I know exactly what you're doing. Describe in detail the procedure you are using to stretch.

Because I'll be gone till Sunday night, your response will not appear until after that.

i have been putting two thumbs or two index fingers inside the opening and stretching outwards for about 1 - 2 mins at a time sometimes i get pain and the ring seems tighter and less stretchy i think i need to rest it for a few days before stretching again when this happensi think it is due to stretching too hard i also think i have adhesions near the edge of the glanse have tried the baloon test should i worry about this yet or consentrate on the ring and stretching the frenulum as it is quite short?

This a war!

If you were on the battleline, would you cease fire before a truce? Right now, you have an enemy at on your front, so consistent and persistant effort is vital if you are to win.

Stretching won't cause the ring to get tighter. In fact, after three days, it should be noticeably looser if you're exerting enough energy into it. Energy means time, not tension, so don't make it hurt, but give it some time. Do two sessions per day with at least five to ten minutes of stretching each session/

Tactics.

October 12 2009, 4:36 AM

Well, I think you do need to be consistent in the manner in which you stretch, particularly the amount of force you use which should strictly not be painful as you do it - albeit somewhat uncomfortable is the best I can describe it.

If you actually experience some visible damage such as an actual tear, that would certainly indicate that you are using grossly excessive force. It can also happen that you get fissuring - multiple tiny cracks - which is an indicator of a skin problem, generally due to "Thrush"; an infection with a yeast, Candida, and which requires suitable treatment as so often mentioned here.

Outside of that, if you are getting soreness, you may need to firstly consider the need for using a lubricant when you do this (vegetable oil would probably be quite fine and is readily available at home), secondly that you may be doing it just a little too forcibly (for the moment, you may find that after you get used to it, you actually can do it a little harder), in which case you should for the present reduce the force you are using, but not the frequency - that is, you keep doing it just as often.

Now, you also need to mention just what you observed on the "balloon test" to suggest the presence of adhesions?

hey i done the test and the edge of the glans didnt really balloon like the rest
i have been stretching for about 10 mins in the shower twice a day and leaving it alone for the rest of the day and think i might be making progress and there is no soreness so gonner keep it up and hopefull will start seeing results i will use less force and put more time into stretching gently i have a short frenulum too i have been stretching it but i think i need to use less force with this too as sometimes it will feel sore afterwards

Consistency is the answer

You can actually take the weekend off without delaying your progress, but during the week, you need to keep the pedal to the metal.

In the shower, do the balloon test regularly to try loosening the tight places. It may or may not work. If you can get a finger inside, you could try prying the tissue apart, but you might have to wait until retraction to the point of adhesion is possible.

Sounds fine.

The only thing I might reiterate, is not to be too anxious about the soreness afterward - especially if it lasts say, less than an hour. It is probably your indicator as to how effective you have been - if it is just a little sore, that's probably about right!

hi just a quick update i have been stretching for about 2 weeks now for at least 10 mins twice a day and think i may be making slight progress when in the shower and i try to retract especially after stretching the opening seems to be slightly bigger and looser than it has been although sometimes it doesnt seem much looser atall is this normal? also when i masturbate the ring will sometimes be a little sore and red afterwards and makes stretching uncomfortable until the next day, would you advise masturbating less or using a different method? i also know i have some adhesions but i will worry about them when the ring starts to loosen up a little more, how long wold you say it can take to see really noticable results? considering my case is quite severe as i can only pull the skin back about a quarter of the way down when flacid and when erect the skin is tight and the ring is only about a couple of cm wide? i will keep posting every week or two to let you know how im getting on

cheers

It's all normal

You must not let up now that you have momentum. As you progress, as you have noted, you'll have some loosening. You will hit a plateau at which you cannot progress for a few days or weeks. Keep applying tension during this period to allow growth of new cells. Once the cells have taken up the slack, you can again move forward. Don't try to rush it. I cannot predict how long it will take, but you will have results if you don't quit or back off on your present effort.
