Hai, im 14 years of age & Uncircumsised & yesterday ( 7.31.12 ) was my first time retracting my foreskin all the way back & i noticed that the rim of my penis head was purple. Does anyone know why? If you do please help me out. Thanks (:

The rim of your glans is purple because that's what color the glans is.

Have you been working on retraction for a while? If the skin is still tight, you should probably consider doing the stretching exercises we outline. There is a starred post which illustates how to do them.

Have you been naughty, looking at pictures on the 'net?

A lot of pictures you see are of circumcised men. The unfortunate consequence of circumcision, is that the glans - the penis head - is permanently exposed to drying and rubbing against clothing. As a result is "toughens up" and tends to get much paler.

Also, if you only just got your foreskin to retract, you clearly did not have an erection, or not much of one. When you don't have an erection, and particularly if it is cold, then the blood supply is shut right down and the blood uses up most of its oxygen and goes blue. With an erection, warmth, and full blood supply, it will be much pinker. The point is - these things are more obvious simply because your glans has been well protected and the colour - as with your lips - is just more obvious that way. (And if your lips turn purple, you are in a bad way because they should always have a good warm blood supply!)

Incidentally, the word to describe your penis is not "uncircumcised", it is "intact" - meaning, not damaged.

That is not my thread, but I have the same thing. I posted some images of my darling penis in that thread but they have been removed by the imagehost. I found this picture on google (it is not of me) which looks somewhat like my corona My ridge is dark purple and it looks very odd compared to the rest of the penis head. I would have killed for a beautiful penis head but nope. After years of phimosis, I finally get to see my gland and what do I get? An odd coloured corona. Hurrah! I have seen pictures of other people with this "condition" and most of them have or have had phimosis, so I think that there might be link.
