Frenulum help - is surgery ever worth it ?

Hi Jim and all,

Im writing to see if surgery on the frenulum is ever an option. I have been dealing with this issue for sever years now and nothing seems to help. My frenulum tears every time I have sex and is painful. My girlfriend and I have abstained for months, I've done stretching, use creams. We always use lots of lube, have tried with and without condoms. This is affecting my relationship and my confidence. I feel like if the tugging on my frenulum was released I would be happy. Maybe I'm not stretching enough but the skin is very hard and very easily broken from years of scarring. If anybody could provide advice please do - I'm at a loss.

It looks dry

Have you treated for yeast. It's hard to tell, nut it looks very dry and could be a yeast infection. Stop washing with soap--just plain water. Apply clottimazole cream to all parts of the glans and foreskin twice per day. If it improves, you've solved the issue. If not, see the doctor. I'm not a fan of any surgery, as too many bad results occr.
