Hi Z and Tom (kiltmonkey?): Sorry I took so long getting back to y'all. Got busy with work stuff, then with garden stuff. We've had so much rain this spring that I have to get out there in between downpours. Anyway, glad to hear you didn't stick with that collection job, Z. I'm not sure what personality types actually like that kind of job but from what I know about you it wouldn't be you. Don't worry about being poor--nothing lasts forever and money isn't everything. The few people I know who one could say have more than enough money don't seem to be that happy. In fact they seem to derive their happiness from holding their financial status over others rather than from enjoying the money itself or using some of it to help others. Anyway, I won't go down that road any further. I'm sure you've come across or will come across that type in your travels. Speaking of travels why is Tom heading back for the hills and dales of Scotland? Could it be he just likes the Scotch??? Up the Irish! Cheers, nightsword

That it does! After my big spiel about people disappearing, everyone disappeared! I've got a new website up, not as glitzy as Gothside once was, but it's a quick and easy way for me to keep in touch with folks an network with other creative types. You can find me over at:
Don't Panic if the page doesn't load the first time you try, they've been doing a lot of maintenance on the site recently, so it's been up and down. But I've got some tunes of mine up there, and I keep a journal there as well. Plus I'm always adding pics and whatnot. And you can see some of the staggeringly creative wierdos I've been hanging with lately.

Congrats Z! A new website after how many ages without one? Before I try to access and bookmark it I thought I'd better leave a message here--in case the crappy dial-up I have doesn't respond which it 50% of the time doesn't. But I guess 50% is better than 0%. Anyway, will this message board still work for awhile or is it sortof simulcast at the new sight....er, make that "site." I'm definitely not a techy person so don't really understand how all this stuff works anyway. Feeling a little hungover today so hope I'm making some sense here. Where is Big D. when you need him???--prob over there somewhere having a fling or two (highland fling that is). Cheers, nightsword.......and once again, a big, fat, three-glasses-full congrats on the new site....going to try and check it out right now.

Had a look at your new site, Z. Like I said previously above, about 50% of the site loaded--well, that's not exactly what I said but that's what happened. I couldn't find/figure out how to send a message on the new site. It kept asking for a password--the "forum" seemed more like myspaces forum and not yours. Had a look at the "view more pictures" but only two came through. Was going to make a comment but again it asked for a password. So here's the comment (only saw the first two pics--I think you had the black & white one on the old site too)--anyway, you look young--even the moustachios don't make you look older--yet somehow you look like an old soul--very pensive, thoughtful, deep thinker--but then I sorta knew that from your words and your music--still love "regrets." And wow, 26 friends!!! I only got to see pics of the ones on the main page (again my system failed!) but gee I number about 7 really really really close friends and perhaps another 10 good friends. Lots of "acquaintance-type" friends besides but 26...I'm impressed! Cheers, nightsword

Well, to be fair, it may not have been you that was having the problem - myspace has been getting a lot of technical work done on it over the past few weeks, so it may have been during one of those problematic periods that you tried to get on.
In answer to your query, you can rest assured that I'll be leaving this forum up. You're quite right, the forum over there isn't mine, it's the main myspace forum. To be honest, I find their forums a tad boring - too much flaming and whatnot, seems like only a handful of people have anything intelligent to say. But the main reason I signed up there was to have some sort of webspace again, and to be able to meet/network with people who share some common interests/goals. For that, it's a great site. you shuld get a page there! It's a free signup, and you can do as much or as little with it as you like... Plus once you have an account, you can check out the rest of my page, leave me messages there, etc. one of the users also set up an IRC chat room, so anyone who wants to can chat in real-time. Quite nice! It would be great if some of the other old regulars from here would migrate over there too...
Thank you for the nice compliments, I'm often told that I look a lot younger than I am. No one ever believes me when I tell them my age, and I still get ID'ed from time to time when buying smokes or liquor.
Anyhoo, hope to see you over on myspace! If/when you get set up, add me as a friend and I'll do the same for you. See you on the other side...

MySpace can be a bit tetchy sometimes, if it doesn't work right off the bat, just try again later you silly pouter! They've been doing a lot of maintenance and whatnot that past few weeks, so it's been up and down. But well worth it, lots of cool people over there (like me).

Isn't it Sweden that does "those" operations? Or have the Scots also got into doing weird things under those kilties? Big OUCH!!!!!!! Oh well, you'll always be Big D. to me.
Thanx for the info about myspace, Z., but as I've said before I'm not a very techy person and I honestly wouldn't know what to do with a website. I rarely have time to even checkout other websites--I mean doesn't it seem like everyone and their dog has a website? Lately I barely have time to even keep up with a few email friends and to check back here from time to time. I'm happy you're keeping this forum so at least if I don't see you on the other side I can still contact you on this side of the other side.
One of the things I've been up to lately was to have a big garage sale! I actually never go to garage sales (don't like to be up that early on a Saturday morning!) but I know a lot of people love them. It was a lot of work clearing closets and cupboards, organizing and pricing stuff but worth it in the end, I guess. I cleared about $500 (which I've spent already of course) but I was totally wiped out for about three days afterward. What I hadn't realized was that a lot of people steal things at garage sales. Maybe I'm too honest or too naive or something but it simply had never occurred to me that people would steal things marked at 50 cents or a dollar! I discovered several ways these thefts are accomplished:- one woman simply stuffed a cushion under her jacket while her friend bought something from me; one man brought his five kids who all made out like bandits while he occupied me with a small purchase; another woman bought a picnic cooler from me and then tried to slip two coffee mugs (from my friend's table) into the cooler; another came with things in both hands--she paid for the stuff in one hand and told me she'd paid my friend for the other stuff--my friend had just gone in the house for a washroom break and of course when she came back the woman was gone; another guy bought some small items which I put in a bag for him. The next customer told me the guy with the bag had gone back down the driveway and stuffed some things into the bag! Anyway so much for garage sales and human nature. The other side of it is that there were also a lot of nice, honest people and I was happy that certain things went to a good home.
Talk to you again soon y'all. Cheers, night
