Just thought I'd tell the world that I've been on a retro 80's cartoons kick the past couple of weeks, having broken out all my old videos of The Transformers and making a royal fest of it. Also bought about 15 NEW vids of episodes I haven't seen in years... Anyone else here an 80's cartoon fan? (I can see this thread going on for a while...I think it can reveal a lot about a person to see what kind of cartoons they like...) C'mon, don't be shy! Be a kid again with me...

I've always watched cartoons, I just think it really slowed down for me in the eighties (probably the decade I watched the least amount of tv).
I discovered Dangermouse, but that might be only ten years ago or so. (dang it's hard to type without using my left hand ring finger, I hacked it with a chef's knife last night). There was a Japanese cartoon I used to watch about wizards & a flying ship that looked like that famous battleship, what was it named, the Yamamoto or something.
I grew up on Beany & Cecil, Kukla Fran & Ollie. I remember Muppets from really long ago. Looney Toons, of course, Rocky & Bullwinkle, the Hanna Barbera stuff....
Remind me of the eighties, I must be suffering some short-term memory loss or somethin'.
I watched Transformers, some, but scoffed & disdained. I think I mostly kept thinking 'they don't make cartoons like they used to...'

STAR BLAZERS!!!!!

What an awesome show, I used to get up at 6am every morning and watch that before I went to school. They have all 3 seasons on video, but it would cost something like 600 bucks to get the complete set... I WANT! I WANT!!! =)

Hey, speaking of Transformers, did you know...

After the original U.S. series ended, it was still mega-popular in Japan. SO, the Japanese (being the enterprising folk that they are) CONTINUED THE SERIES!!! They did 3 whole new shows that continued the story from the end of the U.S. series... I've been poking around ebay, and it looks like I just might be able to get my hands on 'em... YEEE-HAA!!! Over 100 episodes of Transformers that we've never even SEEN before! And they're supposed to blow away the originals...
