If not, I'd tell your inlaws not to put pressure on her and let her be a tom boy. Although I know encouraging her to wear clean clothes and take showers, etc. is important.
However, I'm seeing some red flags too...this goes a bit deeper, but I don't know how to get to the bottom of it either.
I personally think doing Barbazon could just put more pressure on a sensitive young teen.
Can you and Rachael just go do something alone together, maybe something on a regular basis? Something quiet, something with animals? (I know you guys love animals and they always make you feel good about yourself.)
