We are a group of friends who have come together because we share the common bond of caring for someone who has Trisomy 21. We are here to share therapy tips, medical issues, laughs, accomplishments and yes, even frustrations. We embrace what Trisomy 21 has brought into our lives. We feel that it has taught us to appreciate the true meaning of life. We count our children as blessings! We will fiercely protect them and fight for their lives to be valued just as all other peoples' are. We share our pictures, our stories and our hearts here not only to provide friendship and support for each other, but also in the hopes that others will open their minds and their hearts to our unique children and, in turn, make a better world for everyone.

Response to Trying not to feel bad...

Courtney was always my kid laid back.. she sat and study every thing. She watch other kids. She babbled till she was 5yr... said MAMA FINALLY at 6yr... She walked at 3yr.. and I will say.. around 5-6 a light bulb went off. She started running and talking and finally at 14yr.. she can talk, carry on a conversation if she chooses. She reads on a very high function 10-11 grade.. she comprehends around 3-4th grade.. and suxs at math!

Long as Quinn is happy and content and doing his best, that is all the matters. We can not compare our kids to others even those with DS. If that was case.. I be upset all day and night... sometimes it gets me.. but I realized they are all different! I look at Joshua.. who 6yr and not walking but I look at kids here 2.. walking...

KNOW as long you do the best you can as a mom.. it will be OK! All of us are different... even to you and I!
