Pauline or Kevin?

I just heard that auntie Pauline is running for the senate in QLD which leaves me with a bit of a dilemma. Should I vote for Kevin or Pauline? Will a vote for Kevin just be a wasted vote? Kevin isn't as good at hating like Pauline is. He has aroused my fear of the greens and marine parks, but I never cared about that until he told me to. On the other hand Pauline doesn't have to tell me what to be afraid of. She knows what I am already afraid of. Like those neighbours of mine, and the bums in the mall, and disrespectful teenagers who hang out at cinemas, and those arabs who want to kills us all and all the queue jumpers who are trying to get into this country without the appropriate paperwork. But Pauline has probably never been fishing. How can I trust a politician who has never clubbed a big cobia to death with a wooden bat?

Should I go with my heart and vote for Pauline or go with my head and vote for Kevin?

Touche!

September 23 2004, 1:28 PM

LOL

Seriously though, the fishing party does have a lot in common with one Nation. They are both ultra right wing. Neither have any real policies, they just criticise the far left and try to scare people into voting for them. They both hate asians, though for different reasons. One Nation hates them because they bring diseases into the country. TFP hate them because they all catch heaps of undersize fish. Go to any jetty or rock wall and it will be crawling with asians fishing illegally! Apparently anyway.

The fishing party people have already started sucking up to one nation candidates, and Pauline. They even have an ex one nation candidate running for them. In the last election there was a fishing party candidate for tweed called Ned Kelly. He also goes by Edward Kelly. I think his real name is Terry Sharples. I think he is running under that name this time round. He has also run for one nation in the past, but I'm not sure what name he used. Even they dropped him, so now TFP is picking up the one nation dregs. One thing I do know is anywhere there is a bunch of crusty old angry white men who aren't getting the respect they deserve he will be there sticking up for them. He's a real battler that one, a true blue dinky die beer swilling aussie who doesn't trust those high brow people from the city who think they know everything. He knows what's good for us.

Kevin once said that TFP has more in common with the greens than any other party. I think that's because he copied that beam and otter trawling policy from their web site.

Kevin is still saying they are pro-environment. How stupid does he think we are? He said that they favour pink zones over green zones, but both are no-take zones so that doesn't make any difference to fishermen. He's just doing it to kick the bubblies out even though he says the party won't interfere with stuff it is not an expert on. He isn't even saying whether he would try to get rid of the no take zones or not. It's pretty obvious to everyone that that's what he wants but for some reason he is only demanding there be no further restrictions on fishermen. Whatever happenecd to his policy of asking for a lot so you can bargain down from there? He's not going to lift a finger over the trawler issue because then it would look like he was in bed with the greens. He tries to make the party look environmentally responsible but we all know he just wants to stop the greens at any cost.

Do not vote for the fishing party by putting a 1 in the box above the line, unless you want to vote for One Nation. Otherwise a vote for the fishing party is a vote for One Nation, Pauline Hanson, and then the National Party if none of them get in. I can't believe they are expecting people to let them distribute their preferences! They are complaining that the greens have gone too far but expect people to give their preferences to all the right wing minor parties, then the Nationals, then Liberal in response. They claim to be environmentally conscious, but why would anyone who is environmentally conscious do that?
