TFP mission statement is wrong!September 23 2004 at 10:37 PM | Anonymous (no login) from IP address 130.102.128.60 |
| You'd think after all this time and with the election just weeks away they'd have figured out what they stand for. So why is the first item on their mission statement contradicting itself?
OUR MISSION:
1. To abolish all recreational fishing license fees (tax) and introduce a sustainable, all benefactor, user pay system of restructure for our fisheries.
The want to abolish all licence fees/taxes, and introduce a user pays system? What the hell does that mean? As aunty Pauline would say, please explain. |

The candidates and the core support group all oppose the RFL because it was the government's idea. But most fishermen support it. So they compromised and put both in the missions statement. This way when it comes to negotiating they can say whatever they want. And if anyone asks about the RFL they can suss out whether they are for or against before giving a response. |
