In response to criticism that sunfish has lost touch with recreational fishermen they have developed a new policy called 'I can't hear you.' As part of this policy they have deleted their forum and no longer check emails. Emails sent to sunfishnq@bigpond.com have all bounced because the inbox is full. While it is no longer possible to contact sunfish through official channels an anonymous source claiming to be a sunfish representative had this to say:

"Sunfish was never about listening to anglers. Fishermen listen to us. We tell them what's important and what to complain about, yous see?. Simple. We have copied McDonald's highly successful customer service policy. You see small businesses go with 'the customer is always right' but we go with 'we are always right or there wouldn't be any customers.' And in any case if people give up on sunfish we can just leave the web page there and move on to something else. I was thinking a political party would be good 'cause lobbying never worked anyway because the politicians knew no-one supported what we, what we really need is a new image."

As part of the new policy sunfish and The Fishing Party managed to prevent news of an important public consulation from reaching online fishing forums. This is based on the theory that the sleeping giant can only awaken if you first make sure it is alseep. Sunfish's mission is to awaken the sleeping giant - if they did this then sunfish would no longer be needed. The people who run sunfish are also employed by it. If the funds stopped rolling in they'd be out of a job.

You are referring to the Sunfish North Queensland site, which is not the official Sunfish site. This might clear things up (or confuse the hell out of you):

No idea why their forum has dissappeared. Apparently the chairman (who checks that email address) is on holidays. You could try the webmaster but I don't think he is responding to emails either.

You expect us to believe that the chairman of THE recreational fishing lobby up here in NQ has chosen to go on holidays during the leadup to THIS federal election?

Maybe he's busy handing out bumper stickers.
